Dorothy Vickrey Hardy
Mrs. Dorothy Vickrey Hardy, age 93, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at her home in Atmore, Ala. She was a native and life-long resident of Atmore. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and sister. She was the bookkeeper at Hardy & Kearley Garage for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Lottie Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Louie E. Hardy; daughter, Kathryn Jeter and brother, Ralph Vickrey.
Mrs. Hardy is survived by her three daughters, Judy H. (Dale) Clements of Millry, Ala., Pat H. (Johnny) Moore of Cantonment, Fla. and Margie H. Harper of Atmore; two sisters, Peggy (Ron) Muck of Loxley, Ala. and Barbara (Al) Castro of Pensacola, Fla.; eight grandchildren; eleven great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 6, 2019 at noon at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Pruitt officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family received friends Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until service time at noon at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jody Hardy, Steve Drew, Billy Hardy, Kelly Drew, Ronnie Johnson and Wayne Harrison.

Mr. Volley L. Reynolds, Jr., age 49, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church at 11 a.m.

Ruby Jean Dixon
Ms. Ruby Jean Dixon, age 78, of Flomaton, Ala., passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Jay Hospital in Jay, Fla. She was a native of Bay Minette, Ala. but lived most of her life in Flomaton. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching TV and planting flowers. She was a member of Fannie Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Dixon, Sr. and her parents, Rubin Jenkins and Millie Thompson.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by three daughters, Deborah Salary of Pike Road, Ala., Christine (Willie) Bradley and Cynthia (Timothy) Davenport, all of Flomaton; four sons, Robert (Hazel) Green and Murphy (Linda) Dixon, Jr. all of Brewton, Ala., Commodore Dixon of Century, Fla. and Dewight (Kathy) Dixon of Flomaton; four sisters, Lula Kemp of Benton Harbor, Mich., Alma Lee of Irvington, N.J., Priscilla Dixon of Flomaton, Donna Jenkins of Parlin, N.J.; two brothers, Eddie Crenshaw of Oregon and Earl Thompson of Bay Minette, Ala.; thirty-four grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Fannie Baptist Church, Flomaton with Rev. Hiraim Stanton, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Fannie/Damascus Cemetery, Flomaton.

Andrea Kay (Harmon) Byars
Mrs. Andrea Kay (Harmon) Byars, age 33, of Oak Grove, Fla., passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at her home. She was born in Hammond, Ind. She was born to Jack and Evana Harmon. She was a 1984 graduate of Hardin County High School and received her Associate of Business Education from Florida College in 1986. After moving to Oak Grove from Lakeland, Fla. she became active in PTA and the community. She was a substitute teacher for six years and a health technician at Northview High School of eight years. She was a dedicated Northview FFA mom working with the students and chaperoned various trips and competitions. She was an active and dedicated member of Oak Grove church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Harmon, of Huntsville.
Mrs. Byars is survived by her husband, Perry Byars; her mother, Evana Harmon of Huntsville, Ala.; two children, Andrea (Zach) Huff of Huntsville and Micah (Heather) Byars of Waycross, Ga.; three brothers, Alan (Thelma) Harmon of Ridgeway, Va., Grady (Margret) Harmon of Huntsville and Stephan (Betsy) Harmon of Killen, Ala.; thirteen nieces and nephews, Dakota, Raney, Clarke, Kara, Aeryn, Jackson, Preston, Nathaniel, Zachary, Scott, Sean, Spencer, and Samuel.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 8, 2019, at 4 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Brad Sullivan officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, April 8, 2019 from 1 p.m. until service time at 4 p.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.
Active pallbearers were Jackson Byars, Brandon Berry, Frank Smarr, Travis Harrison, Nathan Smarr, James Sullivan, Jacky Byars and Taylor Bethea.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Kay requested donations be sent St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Mrs. Elouise Isaacks, age 67, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at her home in Walnut Hill, Fla.
She was a native of Mobile, Ala., former resident of Greenville, Miss. (twenty years) and had resided in Walnut Hill for the past fifteen years. She was a team truck driver with her husband and a member of the New Life Fellowship Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Beatrice Davis; two sisters, Catherine Warner and Joyce Osburne and two brothers, Roy Davis and Jessie Davis.
Mrs. Isaacks is survived by her husband of thirty-four years, Jimmie Isaacks of Walnut Hill; two sons, Todd Jason Isaacks of Midlothian, Texas and Robert McCormick of Walnut Hill; one daughter, Bobbie Kay (Mike) Miller of Atmore, Ala.; one brother, Billy Davis of Frisco City, Ala.; one sister, Ruth (Robert L.) Gates of Walnut Hill; six grandchildren, Richard Taylor, Shianne Sheedy, Madelin Sheedy, Paige Isaacks, Victoria Isaacks and Robby McCormick and one great-grandchild, Cory Taylor.

Esther V. Ephriam James
Mrs. Esther V. Ephriam James, age 73, of Atmore, Ala., formerly of Mobile, Ala., passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at the home of her daughter. She was a native of Beatrice, Ala. She was a l964 graduate of Escambia County Training School. She enjoyed traveling and modeling, as well as watching Westerns on TV. She was a retired employee with Jefferson Smurfitt-Stone now (Georgia Pacific) in Brewton, Ala.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce James and her parents, Marion Sanders Walton and Samuel McCreary, Sr.
Mrs. James is survived by two daughters, Sheila Ephriam of Atmore and Keisha Ephriam of Waynesboro, Miss.; one son, Nicholas McCreary of Mobile; one brother, Samuel F. McCreary, Jr. of Beaumont, Texas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and other family members.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center, with Bishop Darryl North, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Johnny Lucas
Mr. Johnny Lucas, age 56, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 in Jay, Fla. He was a native and former resident of Atmore, Ala. and had resided in East Brewton, Ala. for the past eighteen years. He was a member of the local Millwright Union #2471 and a proud member of the Republican Party. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Lucas; father, Ronald Lucas and brother, Blue Watson.
Mr. Lucas is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Chastity Peavy of East Brewton; one step-daughter, Brittany Coffey of Atmore; one brother, Randy (Anita) Lucas of Century, Fla.; two sisters, Rhonda Kay (Eddie) Mitchell of San Diego, Calif. and Michelle Lucas (Aubrey “BoBo”) Gregg of Little Rock, Ala.; three grandchildren, Bryson Burks, Aliyah Burks and Laikyn Coffey.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Roley officiating. Burial will follow at Dry Springs Cemetery.

Maxine Pittman
Ms. Maxine Pittman, age 68, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital in Brewton. She was born to the later Orlando and Annie Lee Pittman in Escambia County, Al. She attended Southern Norman and W.S. Neal High School. She was employed at Harold Mill for over fifteen years and later at Brewton Motor Inn for ten years.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; brother, James Pittman and a sister, Flora Pittman.
Ms. Pittman is survived by her children, Willie and Kenny Pittman, both of Houston, Texas, Teresa Pittman and Dora (Henry) Nettles, both of Brewton; sisters, Catherine Yarn of Sarasota, Fla. and Lee Etta Reeves of Brewton; one uncle, Bishop Joe Nathan Brantley (Lealer) of Evergreen, Ala.; grandchildren, Porsha Campbell, Devonte’ Riker, Willie Pittman, Jr., Jason Bailey, Cordero Tolbert, Kenyatta Pittman, Kenrick Chappelle, Tyesha, Vanessa (special riding buddy), Timiya Pittman, Kameron Pittman (protective grandson), Zy’Karius, JaCoria Nettles, MaKenzie Williams and Rymond Pittman; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. M. J. Dailey, Pastor and Rev. Danny, eulogist. Interment followed at Second Saint John Church Cemetery, Brewton.
Pallbearers were Alphonso Lowe, Gary Matthews, Jr., Adam Hall, Keyara Matthews, Tommy Hall and Jeremiah Bailey.
Flower attendants were her grandchildren.
