VFW Auxiliary plans March activities

Special to Atmore News

The Atmore Memorial VFW Auxiliary has a couple of important events coming up in March. You’re invited to participate.
“Mommy & Me” baby shower
The Auxiliary will collect baby items for the Women’s Health Program at Birmingham VA Medical Center’s “Mommy & Me” program on March 16. The “Mommy & Me” program hosts a “baby shower” which provides pregnant female veterans with baby items at no cost.
The Birmingham VA Medical Center offers a variety of health services to meet the needs of our nation’s veterans. Women Veteran Program Managers are available to assist women veterans and coordinate services. Women veterans who are interested in receiving care at VA should contact the nearest VA Medical Center.
The Atmore VFW Auxiliary will host a “Mommy & Me” Baby Shower collection day on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Atmore News office, 128 S. Main Street.
The Auxiliary is collecting diapers, diaper rash ointment, baby wipes, baby lotion, baby shampoo / wash, baby combs and brushes, pacifiers, sippy cups and bottles, blankets, baby clothes (onesies, socks, etc.), car seats, and high chairs. New items only please.
The Auxiliary expresses its thanks to Poarch Baptist Church’s Women’s Ministry program for their recent donations for this program. All items collected will be donated to the Women’s Health Program at Birmingham VA Medical Center.
Vietnam Veterans Day
