My name is Bob Turk, and I was born and raised right here in Atmore—back when kids could walk the neighborhood without fear and neighbors looked out for one another. I love this city, and like many of you, I’m concerned about some of things going on such as the recent jump in crime rate and shootings. Crime has become a near-daily issue and we need to take that very seriously.
As my wife of 45 years and I started thinking about retiring and where we wanted to live , Atmore was at the top of our list and we made the move back home.
After working for 38 years in several management positions with two major corporations I decided to retire in 2019. After enjoying retirement for a few years, I felt a need to go back to work and started searching for what I wanted to do and wound up driving a school bus. After a little over 2 years, I can honestly say it’s the most rewarding job I’ve ever had .
Right now, I don’t have all the answers. But I’m committed to asking the difficult questions, listening to you, and fighting everyday to get results for District 1 and the entire city of Atmore.
