The following felony arrest was the only one reported by officers of the Atmore Police Department (APD) during the period June 1-7:

The 67-year-old Atmore man was arrested June 7 on several charges, including felony drug possession, after he reportedly stole unspecified items from Walmart.
According to police reports, officers were sent to the local retailer around 1:25 p.m. after store officials filed a shoplifting complaint against him.
They were able to provide police with a description of the suspect, and an APD officer spotted a man who fit the description walking along North Main Street. Police attempted to contact Peoples, but he took off running. A brief foot pursuit ensued before the officer took the suspect into custody.
Police were able to recover the stolen items, which had a collective value of less than $500, along with a small amount of crack cocaine and items used to ingest narcotics.
The Atmore man was processed into the Escambia County Detention Center, where he remained early Tuesday
He is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, fourth-degree theft of property and misdemeanor attempting to elude a police officer.
