The Alabama Board of Pardons & Paroles recently denied parole for an Atmore man who was convicted in 2012 of robbing two Atmore businesses and one in Bay Minette.
Shoat Bryon Gray was sentenced to 20 years in prison after his second-degree robbery conviction. He was also sentenced to a pair of 15-year sentences for first-degree robbery but is serving them concurrently with the lesser charge.
He was convicted of robbing the Dollar General on South Main Street and Video World (no longer in business) on South Trammell Street in Atmore. He was also convicted of robbing L.J. Stop and Shop in Bay Minette after investigators from each city worked together and tied him to all three crimes.
Alabama Department of Corrections records show Gray, currently housed at Elmore Correctional Facility, has served 13 years and 9 months behind bars. Unless he is granted a pardon or parole, he will remain behind bars until September 1, 2031.
