At right, from left, Escambia County High School (ECHS) Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America members D’emyia Munlin and Jontavious Richardson explain the intended purpose of the school’s new Community Blessing Box during the May 5 grand opening ceremony. The box, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, contains cleaning products, personal hygiene products, non-perishable foods and other essentials that are free to those who need them, although those who take advantage of it are asked to refill it as they are able. Students shown in background, from left, are Sa’Riyah Jones and Kajiah McPherson. The community project is a collaboration between ECHS and the Escambia County Extension Office.
