Sandra Anne Spence
Mrs. Sandra Anne Spence, age 56, passed away at her home Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was originally from Caryville, Fla. but had lived in Walnut Hill, Fla. for the last thirty-eight years. She had a joyful spirit that shone through her love for tulips and the excitement of traveling. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she delighted in decorating with cheerful snowmen. Her playful puppy, Trigger, was always by her side. Whether it was being outdoors or enjoying a peaceful day of fishing, she embraced every moment with love and joy.
Her favorite saying was “I Love You To The Moon and Back”
She was preceded in death by her parents, John T Akridge Sr. and Averil English Akridge; brother, John T. Akridge Jr.
Mrs. Spence is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years, William Scott Spence of Walnut Hill; two daughters, Caitlin (Cole) Norton of Atmore, Ala. and Allison (Nathaniel) Nelson of Milton, Fla.; son, Samuel (Autumn) Spence of Molino, Fla.; three brothers, Peter (Claire) English of Kings Lynn, Eng., Tony Akridge of Geneva, Ala. and John (Penny) Mecham of Suffolk, Eng.; two sisters, Deborah (Jerry) Hilliard of Phenix City, Ala. and Shirley (Bobby) Brackin of Geneva, Ala.; grandchildren, McKenzie Norton, Emma-Kate Norton, William Norton, Maverick Norton, Kevin Nelson, Hunter Nelson, Karsyn Nelson, one on the way, Logan Nelson, Liam Spence, Greyson Spence and Knox Spence; puppy Trigger.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Flowers will be accepted, the family request live plants.

Danny William McGhee
Mr. Danny William McGhee, age 72, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025 after a lengthy hospital stay. He was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Willis McGhee, Sr. and Arentha Hinote McGhee. He grew up in Poarch Community and attended Poarch Mennonite Church with his family. He graduated from Escambia County High School. He retired from the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, working most of his life as a welder. His work allowed him to travel, explore America and live his life to the fullest. One of his last work assignments was in Alaska. As a proud member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, he loved his culture and tribal family. He also loved Alabama football, drag racing, cultural arts and beadwork. He loved to read books by Louie Lenore and Tony Hillerman.
He is preceded in death by LaVan Martin, Doug Martin, Jeanette Beck and Ima Jean Sheets.
Mr. McGhee is survived by his daughter, Melinda McGhee of Stockton, Al.; brothers, Willis “Kent” McGhee and wife Tracy of Bratt, Fla. Terry M. McGhee and wife Yvonne of Poarch, Ala. and George D. McGhee and wife Sharon of Atmore; sisters, Mary Jane Tullis and husband Eddie L. of Poarch and Nancy M. Lowrey and husband Eddie of Atmore; numerous nephews and nieces; special friend, Eddie Kennington.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. with Brother Walter Rolin and Reverend Brian Eskelinen officiating. Burial will follow at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC.
Pallbearers will be Troy McGhee, Michael McGhee, Andrew McGhee, Robert Lowrey, Brandon McGhee and Chase McGhee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie L. Tullis, Jerrel Hollinger, Jerry Sells, Juluis Sells, Phillip Martin, Ricky McGhee, Don Jackson, Eddie Kennington and David Moore.
