Dobson seeks seat on city council

Dobson

Note: The following announcement was submitted by the candidate.

I am excited to announce my intention to run for the district 4 city council seat in this upcoming election. I believe that Atmore is growing, and with that growth I would like to do my part in positively impacting this city that I love so much. My grandmother, Debbie Rowell, founded Southern Real Estate in 1979, and I’ve worked there ever since I graduated high school. After getting my real estate licenses I worked while obtaining my bachelor’s degree at the University of South Alabama. Working in real estate has given me unique experiences with people and local knowledge of the area that I feel would help assist me in the city council capacity. I have served as the president of the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce and Atmore Rotary Club. I’m also serving on the Main Street Atmore Board. The connections and lessons learned throughout my civic work has taught me the importance of community. By listening to my district and Atmore as a whole, I would strive to achieve all that I can to ensure a vibrant and welcoming environment for everyone who calls this town home and even those just passing through. I know the value of industry, education, and most importantly, citizen well-being. If elected, I look forward to bringing new ideas and plans to the city council!
