An evening of music was held Thursday, December 12, as the Escambia County Middle School Concert Band, the Escambia County High School Choir, and the Escambia County High School Wind Ensemble presented their winter concerts.
Conrad Weber directed the choir in “Psalm 23 (I Am Not Alone)” with guest soloist Unica Cox; “Made a Way” featuring Trinity Gray and Jakera Banks; “Mary, Did You Know?” featuring Ariyana Young, Angel Crenshaw, Marley Burkett, Jacques Judd; “This Christmas” featuring Jakera Banks; and “Melodies From Heaven” with special guests Unica Cox and James Scruggs. “Q” Crenshaw accompanied on bass and Tristan Young on drums.
D.K. Grissett conducted the ECMS Concert Band in “Silent Night,” “Greensleeves” featuring the Clarinet Choir – Diana Garcia, Neleh Gholsby, Laya George, Kearden Frye, all eighth-graders; “Birds of a Feather” and “What Was I Made For” featuring Aleigh Simmons and Kailyn Mosley, both on alto saxophone, both seventh-graders; and “Baby Shark.”
Grissett also conducted the ECHS Wind Ensemble. Their selections included “Procession of the Levites,” “Christmastime Is Here,” “Water,” and tributes to Frankie Beverly (“Joy and Pain” and “We Are One”); James Earl Jones (“Coming to America); and Quincy Jones (Ai No Corrida). “Q” Crenshaw accompanied on bass and Tristan Young on drums.
