Never forget September 11, 2001

Congressman Jerry Carl

Twenty-three years ago, our nation suffered one of the most tragic events ever to occur – the attacks on September 11, 2001. Terrorists crashed planes into the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon, and nearly the United States Capitol. Lives were lost, families were broken, and our nation was hurting. The War on Terror broke out and affected everyone around the world. This week, may we reflect upon those who lost their lives, those who lost loved ones, and those who risked their lives to save others.
Life has not been the same since the morning of September 11, 2001. The attacks on American soil have had a profound imprint on who we are as a nation. The terrorists’ objective was simply to destroy the United States through every facet. From the moment the first plane hit, we have been resilient. Although many were still lost, our firefighters and police officers were swiftly called to action, saving countless lives.
This week, 9/11 brings to light something truly important to our nation – our security. Though our world may look a little different now than it did 23 years ago, having security within our country and along our borders has never been needed more. I, along with my House Republican colleagues, understand the severity of having a safe and secure nation that can properly protect its citizens. Though we have passed multiple bills to fix our border crisis, address looming threats from China and Russia, and protect our greatest Middle Eastern ally Israel, Far-Left members of Congress and the Biden-Harris Administration continually shut our good, America-first legislation down.
The Biden-Harris Administration has proven to be lethal for the stability of our world, and their laundry list of actions speaks for themselves. There is no room for hate and targeted violence in our nation, yet they have appeased antisemitic protests. With Kamala’s green light, Biden recklessly pulled troops out of Afghanistan, leaving Kabul controlled by the Taliban. Thirteen U.S. soldiers died, and their families only have this Administration to blame for their loss.
I am worried about the future of our nation if Kamala Harris is elected on November 5. She does not work in the best interest of Americans – she leaves us vulnerable, economically struggling, and globally weak. As the Border Czar, she has put every single American at risk. Her lack of border security has only led to a more dangerous, chaotic America.
I pray we never experience a tragedy like 9/11 again. We must always remember what happened on the morning of September 11, 2001, so that it can never happen again. Though our nation still hurts from the atrocities of that day, we must continue to stand firmly for what is right for America. Going forward, I will continue doing everything I can to fight and make the United States strong, safe, and secure.
