EA suffers a rainy defeat at Fort Dale

Last week, the Escambia Academy Cougars traveled to Fort Dale Academy to play the Fort Dale Eagles in their second game of the season.
Unfortunately, there was a really bad rainstorm in the area that night, which served as a bad omen for what was to come for the Cougars.
Captains Eli McElhaney and Traegan James met with the referees and Fort Dale captains, with Escambia winning the toss and choosing to kick.
They started the game off with a kick by Grant Sasser, with Logan Madden securing the tackle against the Eagles. However, the Eagles were quickly able to score a touchdown against the Cougars a few plays later and, after making the extra point, started off the game at 0-7.
The kickoff was successfully caught by A.J Bennett, and using that momentum, Y McNeal was able to run the ball to the 5-yard line and make a touchdown the next play, and after Grant Sasser made the extra point kick, the game was tied 7-7.
After that, Fort Dale made another touchdown down making the game 7-14.
As the rain poured harder and harder, Escambia only seemed to struggle more and more as the score climbed up 7-28 by the end of the first quarter. And it slowly got worse with the score being 7-35 by the end of the third quarter. This, however, did not discredit some amazing tackles made by players like Eli McElhaney and Jackson Bartley.
No matter how hard and passionately the Cougars fought in the blistering rain, they were no match for this team which was almost double their size. The game ended with a loss of 7-42.
