Elvin Lamar Pugh
Mr. Elvin Lamar Pugh, age 87, of Oak Grove, Fla., passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at his home. He was born in Oak Grove to Joseph Albert Pugh and Willie Enfinger Pugh. He retired from St. Regis-Champion with forty-two years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He loved his family, his church and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph Pugh.
Mr. Pugh is survived by his wife of seventy years, Peggy Mooney Pugh; his son, Stephen (Sheila) Pugh of Oak Grove; his daughter, Terri (Charles) Stark of Oak Grove; his grandchildren, Stevie (Star) Pugh, Clint (Shelby) Pugh, and Charla (Alan) Lee and his great-grandchildren, Libby Pugh, Colby Pugh, Jaxon Lee and Kenzie Lee.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Sellers officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Stevie Pugh, Clint Pugh, Colby Pugh, Alan Lee, Shannon Peavy and Dougie Godwin.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 1 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Barbara Ann Lambert Hollingsworth
Mrs. Barbara Ann Lambert Hollingsworth, age 80, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born in Nokomis, Fla. to Hibbert and Edna Earl Lambert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Dewayne Hollingsworth; her father, Hibbert Lambert; daughter, Tanga Rena Hollingsworth; brother, Hibbert “Buddy” Lambert, Jr.; sister, Margaret Elizabeth Lambert; great-granddaughter, Addison Yvonne.
Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by three sons, Ronald (Barbara) Hollingsworth and Robert Hollingsworth of Enon and Russell (Suzanne) Hollingsworth of Beulah, Fla.; daughter, Rachael (Marty) Hamilton of Enon; her mother, Edna Earl Lambert of Poarch, Ala.; four sisters, Edna Ship of Poarch, Merle Pope and Glenda McAnally, both of Nokomis, Pat Barnes of Turnerville, Ala.; brother-in-law, Paul (Linda) Hollingsworth of Robertsville, Ala.; ten grandchildren, Kimberly, David (Nina), Kelly (Curtis), Crystal (Nathan), Rena, Bessie, Kourtnei, Dalton (Grace), Caitlyn and Hannah; ten great-grandchildren with one on the way, Tatum, Austin, Lane, Colton, Nathan, Kharrington, Brody, Hayden, Tucker and Riktavius; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. with Reverend Alton Lister and Pat Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Hollingsworth Family Cemetery.

Joyce Sue Hall Hollingsworth
Mrs. Joyce Sue Hall Hollingsworth, age 91, of Atmore (Nokomis), Ala. passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at home. She was born in Freemanville, Ala. to John Robert Hall and Clydie Brewer Hall. She and her husband Dewey operated a successful dairy farm in Walnut Hill, Fla. more than thirty years. She was an active member of Nokomis Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-three years, Dewey Hollingsworth; five sisters and their spouses – brothers and their spouses – Earl Hall, James (Hilton) Hall, Ray Hall, Gordon (Gwinn) Hall and Gary Hall.
Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by her daughter, Sharon Rose (Ronnie) of Atmore (Nokomis), her grandson Jason Williams of Atlanta, GA, her granddaughter Julie Williams of Atmore, AL; step grand-children Amanda Rose Mills, Jessica Rose and their families; great-grandchildren Savannah Cale, Noah Cale; and a host of other family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29 at 11:00am at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dennis Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Nokomis Baptist Church Cemetery.

Hilda Lara Solis Hiebert
Mrs. Hilda Lara Solis Hiebert, age 77, of Walnut Hill, Fla. passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the home of her sister, Karina in Angie, La., at the end of a cancer journey spanning more than four years. She was born in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico
to Gustavo and Eva Lara. Her father moved the family many times following the church congregation. As a young lady, she spent about eight months in Kansas, working at Mercy Hospital. She attended medical classes, opened a drug store in a room on the family yard, where she filled the role of village nurse and pharmacist.
She and her sister Irma came to the United States, working in Dallas, Texas, Leland, Miss. and later Brooksville. The years spent living and working at each of these congregations were happy and fulfilling, making many precious friendships at both places. She treasured her grandchildren and “grand grands”. We have been greatly blessed to have her as our dear Mom and “Abuelita”.
She was preceded in death by her husband of ten years, Melvin Hiebert; her parents and one sister-in- law.
Mrs. Hiebert is survived by two sons, Steve and Lynette of Walnut Hill and Kendall and Rhonda of Arcadia, Fla.; five grandchildren, Ryan and Genesee, Darren and Clara Jo, Lindsey and Zachary Baerg, Marcus and Mia; seven great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gvo Jr, Saltillo and Aaron Saltillo, Mariza Lara, all of Mexico, Jose (Pepe) and Elizabeth (Licha) Lara, both of San Antonio, Texas, Irma Lara and Karina and Craig Graham, all Angie, La.; many dear nephews and nieces, and a host of very special and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2024 at the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church with Ministers Mike Koehn, Galen Schmidt and Carlos Koehn officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Memorial Gardens.

Richard Melton Passmore
Mr. Richard Melton Passmore, age 58, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024 at his residence in Grove Hill, Ala. He was a native of Pensacola, Fla., lived in Grand Bay, Ala. and the past twenty-one years in Grove Hill. He loved his family, enjoyed being with them especially his nieces and nephews. He was born with Cerebral palsy, having 18 + surgeries throughout his life, cancer survivor and had overcome so many obstacles, he never complained, and never lost his joy. Spent many years participating in Camp ASCCA, numerous awards were achieved in the 20 + years at camp. He was in the Pilot Program for Mobile County. During the pilot program he worked at Tillman’s Corner Walmart, which he greatly loved his job. He had many friends throughout the years.
Mr. Passmore is survived by his parents, Bobby and Violeta Passmore of Grove Hill; brother, Robert (Schon) Passmore of Jackson, Ala.; niece, Rachael (Jonathan) McLendon; nephew, Ethan Passmore; great-nieces, Addie Claxton, Anna Claxton, Lindsey McLendon; great-nephew, Brett McLendon; many aunts, uncles and other relatives; a very special couple, Retired Colonel Jackson and Agnes Gray who were close friends of 30+ years; many aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Graveside and burial services will be held Friday, July 5, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Godwin Cemetery with Brother Randy Boone officiating.

Elnora Elaine Jordan
Mrs. Elnora Elaine Jordan (Bay Bay), age 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away in her home Monday, June 17, 2024. She was born to Nancy Cavanaugh and Lankford Jordan in Atmore, Ala. She loved spending time with family with life lessons she learned were passed on to all instilling strong morals, values and a deep understanding of the meaning of family. She had a passion for dressing sharply and acquiring nice things.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Johnson; step-son, William Conley Johnson, Jr.; her mother and father; siblings and extended family members.
Grandma Bay is survived by five children, Victor Jordan (Carla Jordan), Quanda Ankum, Kendrick Ankum (Keshia Ankum), Demenick Ankum (Maria Binger), Mickey Ankum (Angela Bowers); over twenty grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 1 until 4 p.m. at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burial was held in Fairview Cemetery, Atmore, Ala.
