Lions meet

The Amore Lions Club held its first meeting in June on June 5, in the Mayson Auditorium at Atmore Community Hospital. President Renee Hardy called the meeting to order and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the blessing.
Richard Cavalieri and Brad Trotter were recognized as guests.
Following lunch. Lion Hardy led a discussion about the needs for the softball tournament fundraiser which will be held June 21-22 on the fields at Poarch.
Members were presented with a list of the new officers and committee chairmen who will be installed at the next meeting and take office on July 1. Decisions were made concerning the Atmore Lions Club help with Camp Smile and Camp Seale Harris, the latter which will be July 23.
To close out the meeting, President Hardy presented Lion Nancy Karrick with a 20-year chevron, recognizing 20 years of membership in Lions Clubs International, and read a letter from the International President. Lion Hardy was presented with a commemorative pin from the Alabama District 34 state meeting held in Muscle Shoals in April.
The next meeting will be held on June 19.
