Alvin Dewayne Cunningham

Mr. Alvin Dewayne Cunningham, age 56, of Evergreen, Ala., passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024. He was born to the late Mary Jane Cunningham and Allen Wayne Moncrease of Castleberry, Ala. He graduated from Conecuh County High School, Castleberry and served in the United States Army. He was a fan of Alabama Crimson Tide. Growing up, he attended Second Marietta Baptist Church, Castleberry.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Chase Cunningham; wife, Nancy Barclay, brothers, Daniel Cunningham and Michael Levon Cunningham    

Mr. Cunningham is survived by two daughters, Shataska Lewis of Prattville, Ala. and DaSharia Gill of Evergreen, Ala.; step-children, Devon Scott (Seth) and Johnathan Jones; six grandchildren, Andrea Lewis, Har’mynee Gill, Har’lee Gill, Har’lon Gill, Zegery L. Reeves and Keaurrie K. Cooper; three step-grandchildren, Dalton Sims, Braxton Sims and Heavenly Sims; brother, Rufus Cunningham, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Cassandra Cunningham Floyd (Jeffery ) of Brewton, Ala., Carolyn Witham (Samuel) and Claudetta Lafaye Donnell, all of Greensboro, N.C.; six half-brothers and sisters, Nicole Goldsmith of Lakeland, Fla., Tomekia Jones of Pensacola, Fla., Caven Jenkins of Greensboro, Thaddeus Ikner of Augusta, Ga., Tanya Rogers of  and Lynn Rogers Stallworth, all of Brewton, Ala, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11 a.m.at Christian Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Blackmon officiating. Interment followed at Second Marietta Cemetery.

Pallbearers and Flower bearers were his family and friends.

Roy Clinton Lowery

Mr. Roy Clinton Lowery, age 74, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Monroeville, Ala. and lived most of his life in Canoe, Ala. and Bratt, Fla. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and shopping. He loved spending time with his family, especially going to the mountains. He was an avid Alabama Football fan. He retired from the Oil Field Industry with thirty-five years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Clifford and Christine Nall Lowery.
Mr. Lowery is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Ann Lowery of Bratt; son, Craig Lowery of Bratt; two brothers, Ray (Freida) Lowery of Canoe and Ray (Rita) Reeves of Silverhill, Ala.; sister, Hazel (Ed) Johnson of Demopolis, Ala.; six grandchildren, Colton, Addi, Maddi, Avrey, Leigha and Landyn; special friends Frank and Beth Mosley.
Funeral service were held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. with Reverend Greg Sellers officiating. Burial followed at Godwin Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jeff Wilson, Slick Roley, Wayne Gunn, Kenneth Roley, Bo McGhee and Gary Roley.

Honorary pallbearers were Joe Mosley and Frank Mosley

Everette Carl Stewart 

Mr. Everette Carl Stewart, age 69, of Rabun, Ala., passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 at his residence. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Chemtura Corporation in Bay Minette, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Audrey Stewart and one brother, Christopher Dale Stewart.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Margaret Ann Stewart of Rabun; one daughter, Stephanie (Marshall) Price of Bay Minette, Ala. and one son, Charlie (Becky) Stewart of Rabun, Ala.; grandchildren, Corissa Lipscomb and Matthew (Britain) Price, Tiffany Stewart, Jeb Stewart; great-grandchildren, Kira Lipscomb, Mazleigh Price and Jenson Price; siblings, Patricia (Lee) Gilliam and Joann (Hank) Paul, all of Bay Minette, Lisa (Mark) Crow of Summerdale, Ala. , Anthony (Pat) Stewart of Carrollton, Ga. and Ronald (Sarah) Stewart of Mansfield, Ga.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 13, 2024 at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. D.L. Harville officiating. Burial followed in Bryars-McGill Cemetery. 
Pallbearers were Earl Bryars, Earl Parker, Chris Gill, Jason Bryars, Shannon Bosarge and Marco Polanco. 

The family received friends Monday, May 13, 2024 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

J. Nelson Kling          
Mr. J. Nelson Kling, age 73, of Lancaster, Penn. passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 following a motorcycle. He was born in Atmore, Ala. to late Rev. C. Richard and Gail E. Kling. He served as a mission worker in Ethiopia under Eastern Board from 1970-73 and completed his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Mennonite College. He found his passion serving seniors in various roles at Mennonite Home Communities until his retirement. He enjoyed community involvement in Rotary, Lancaster Chamber and Mennonite Disaster Service. He attended Gingrich’s and Landisville Mennonite congregations. He was a past board member of Partners in Evangelism and Lancaster Mennonite High School. He was a current Board Member of Mennonite Children’s Choir of Lancaster and Meserete Kristos Link.

He was a founding member of Sacred Anthems Quartet.

Mr. Kling is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Marie; daughter, Krystal Zellner (Michael) and his son, Jared Kling (Dana); grandchildren, Taylor, Luke, EJ and Carson; his brother, Gerald (DJ) Kling of Smoketown, Penn.  

A Celebration of Life Service to be announced at a later date. Friends may greet the family informally following the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Gingrich’s Mennonite Cemetery in Lebanon, Penn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Mennonite Home Benevolent Care Program at: Mennonite Home Communities, 2001Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.

Louis C. Lee

Mr. Louis C. Lee, age 73, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024.

He was preceded by his parents; grandmother, Elizabeth Bullard; two brothers, Robert and John Lee; his brother friend, Willie Frye, his wife, Cressie N. Lee and a host of aunts and uncles and cousins.

Mr. Lee is survived by his daughter Lakisha Lee, Betty J. Simmons, Edward (Tamika) Bullard, Mary Ford, Loretta (Michael) Gray, Christine (Roy) Sanders, Juanita Lee, James (Jackie) Lee, Willie (Shannon) Lee and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; caretakers, Marion P. Simmons and Francis Simmons.

Lisa Rena McNeal

Lisa Rena McNeal, age 58, of Huntsville, Ala. passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 to Annie (ULean) McNeal and the late Johnny Ray Clemons. She graduated from Northern High School, Flint, Mich. She was a member of St. Thomas A.M.E. Church, Perdido, Ala. She loved time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Henry, Sr. and Dora McNeal; two brothers, William Clemons and Ben Clemons of Flint, Mich.; one aunt, Carlie Maxine McNeal Felder; two uncles, Edward “Bobby” McNeal and Edgar “Billy” McNeal.

Ms. McNeal is survived by her mother, Annie ULean (Alfonzo) Williams; two daughters, Keyshounda McNeal and Quidrkia McNeal, both of Huntsville; two sons, Noah (Courtney) Barron on Huntsville and Demetria Barron of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Elonda Clemons of Flint; four aunts, Ann (Bobby) McNeal and Creashandra McNeal, both of Atmore, Crystal McNeal of Flint and Loneta James of Chesapeake, Va.; three uncles, Robert Keith McNeal, Willie McNeal of Atmore and Henry, Jr. (Debra) McNeal of Lawrenceburg, N.C.; two great-uncles, Larry Mitchell of Atmore and Earl Carter of Fort Deposit, Ala.; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Gaines chapel AME Church with Rev. Cleats Walker, Pastor and Rev. Mildred McNeal, Eulogy/Officiant.

Pallbearers were Noah Barron, Willie McNeal, Roberto Howard, Jamyis Lyles, Jerquer Lyles and Ty McNeal.

Flower attendants were her family and friends.
