Lorene Pryear Moorer

Funeral service for Lorene Pryear Moorer of Walnut Hill, Fla. was held Saturday, February, 17, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center, Atmore, Ala. with Bishop Darryl North, Pastor and Rev. Sammie Moorer, eulogist. Inhumation followed in New St. Paul Cemetery, Walnut Hill.

Turner Funeral Chapel in charge of all arrangements.

Barbara Ann White

Mrs. Barbara Ann White, age 81, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 surrounded by her family in Pensacola, Fla. She resided most of her life in Century, Fla. She loved to cook, bake and can vegetables to share with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to the Smoky Mountains and just sitting back watching the Home Shopping Network and Soap Operas. She really enjoyed spending time with her family and loving on her great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward (Viola Johnson) Hobbs.

Mrs. White is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Cecil White of Cantonment, Fla; one son, Cecil Martin “Marty” (Donna) White of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Melody (Tim) Johnson of Cantonment; one sister, Brenda Barnes of Gulf Port, Miss.; one grandson, Jacob (Caitlin) Johnson; one great-grandson Ryland Johns and soon to be Levi Johnson; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Noon at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC. with Bro. Fred Stallworth officiating. Burial will follow at Flomaton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 11 a.m. until service time at Noon at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Johnson, Eddie Hammond, Dwayne Singleton, Chris Burnham, Jeremy White and Brian White.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn White and Randy Levins.

Peggy Dianne Luker Rowley

Ms. Peggy Dianne Luker Rowley, age 73, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024. A longtime resident of Atmore she had the utmost gusto for life. She was passionate in coordinating the annual Christmas party during her twenty-one years of service to the Escambia County School Board, putting on the extravagant Halloween Bunco meet for her many life-long friends, hauling Taylor, Brett, and Chaston to all four corners of the state to participate in Escambia Academy athletics, and cheering on her beloved Crimson Tide through the good times and the bad. Peggy was passionate about living life to the fullest and loyal and loving beyond comparison. 

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary and Fred Luker of Atmore and one brother, Jerry Luker, of Conroe, Texas. 

Ms. Rowley is survived by one son, Jason Timothy (Leah) of Atmore; her sisters, Patty Helton Davis (Jerry) of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Debbie Charalene Luker of Atmore; three nephews, Chad Helton (Suzanne), Chris Luker (Charlene) and Shannon Adams; a niece, Misty Reeves (Jimmy), and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Davis and Bro. Austin Lee officiating. Our sweet “Peg” will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 23, 2024 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Isaac Davis 

Mr. Isaac Davis, age 87, of Perdido, Ala. passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in Pensacola, Fla. He was born in Atmore, Ala. and has resided most of his life in Atmore. He proudly served in the United States Army and retired from the State of Alabama. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing on the river and watching westerns. He enjoyed working around his house, spending time with his family, his dog “Prince” and especially his granddaughter Jessica.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee (Bessie Mae Taylor) Davis; wife, Dorothy Smith; granddaughter, Jessica Gibson; one brother, Burlie Freeman; two sisters, Martha Brantley and Florence Maddox.

Mr. Davis is survived by his one son, Robert (Myra) Dukes of Cedar Bluff, Ala.; two daughters, Bonnie (Ernie) Thomas of Dahlonega, Ga. and Dottie (Terry) Townson of Henagar, Ala.; one sister, Louise (Terry) Troutman of Atmore; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Graveside and burial services were held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor, Bill Stuckey officiating.

Patricia Ann “Rissie” Bray McNeel 

McNeel

Ms. Patricia Ann “Rissie” Bray McNeel, age 89, a resident of Pensacola, Fla. passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Mobile, Ala. She was born in Louisville, Miss. She was a member of the Century United Methodist Church for sixty years from 1957-2017 and then became a member of the Pensacola United Methodist Church. She was given the “Most Outstanding” designation in her graduating class at Lawrence County (AL) High School and then went on to become an official court reporter. She was well read, sharp, spunky and witty. She will be missed for her fun, energetic personality and her fabulous cooking talent she generously shared with so many. She was constantly preparing gourmet meals and desserts for friends and family. She dearly loved all her friends, and she was especially fond of her Pensacola friends who she spent many happy times with in the latter years of her life. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Joe W. McNeel, Jr.; her daughter, JoAnne McNeel Key. She was the youngest of 8 children, and she truly realized how fortunate she was to have so many brothers and sisters

Ms. McNeel is survived by her son, Joe W. McNeel III (Kate) of Fairhope, Ala.; four grandchildren, Andrew Key (Chelsea) of Marietta, Ga., Stella Key of Chicago, Ill, Morgan McNeel Waters (Sam) of Oxford, Miss. and Alex McNeel of Fairhope; two great-grandchildren, Annie Key and Walter Key and a son-in-law, Mark (Xan) Key of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Noon at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, Ala.

Mr. Dan James Hadley, age 78, of Perdido, Ala. passed away Monday, February 12, 2024.
