The Atmore Community Foundation, an affiliate of The Community Foundation of South Alabama (CFSA), has awarded 21 grants to Atmore area nonprofits since its founding in 2017. Through concerted grant-making efforts, the effects of the Atmore Community Fund will be felt for generations to come.
Prima Girl, a recent Atmore Community Foundation grant recipient, has been positively impacted by the Foundation’s grant making process.
“Prima Girl is immensely grateful for the grant money that fueled the purchase of the Spark curriculum to aid in accomplishing our mission,” Prima Girl Executive Director Nicole Jones said. “This funding has transformed our teaching approach, creating an engaging and impactful learning experience for students. The support received has undoubtedly elevated the quality of education provided, leaving a lasting positive impact on both mentors and mentees alike. This experience would not have been possible without the sponsorship of the Atmore Community Foundation grant!”
The Atmore Community Foundation Advisory Committee members have dedicated their time and energy to fundraising for future grant-making efforts. Establishing an affiliate through CFSA is no easy feat. It required the committee to raise an initial $25,000 to create an endowment fund, titled the Atmore Community Fund. The members of the committee have been hard at work fundraising for the community fund. In efforts to improve the lives of Atmore residents, the committee is now seeking the community’s help to reach the goal of $100,000 to amplify the amount of funding available.
“We are so close to reaching our fundraising goal,” Advisory Committee Chair Audrey Moon said. “The Atmore Community Foundation is hoping to raise $6,534 this year to get us at $100,000. Our community is resilient and has always supported our efforts. Help us continue to support Atmore so that we can fund the local organizations that are really making a difference in the quality of life for our residents.”
Individuals who are interested in investing in the Atmore community can mail a donation by check to P.O. Box 990 Mobile, AL, 36601. Online donations are also available through the Foundation’s website at www.atmorecommunityfoundation.org.
