Janice Ann Amerson Weemes

Ms. Janice Ann Amerson Weemes, age 82, passed away Monday, December 3, 2023. She was born in Mobile, Ala. to Horace E. Amerson and Fannie Wiggins Amerson.  She was the heart of her family, always with a smile on her face and would give anything to anybody. She loved smiley faces. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant and volunteered for thirteen years at Atmore Hospital as an Auxiliary “Pink Lady”.  She attended Atmore Assembly of God. She also was a member of Silver Sneakers and enjoyed the S.A.I.L Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-daughter, Judy Griffin; her brothers, Elyan Amerson and Curtis Amerson; her sister, Betty Brown.

Miss Ann is survived by her step-sons, Glen Weemes, Mike Weemes, Greg Weemes and Clyde Weemes; her step-daughters, Elaine Nelson, Glenda Haskins and Janice Johnson; her aunt, Mary Hall; her uncle, James Wiggins; her nephews, Al Amerson, Randy Hall, Danny Amerson, Curtis Alan Amerson, Scott Amerson and Alex Amerson; her nieces, Wanda Hall, Lisa Fisher and Leah Williams;  numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, Fla. with Bro. Ken Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brad Williams, Dylan Amerson, Kyle Wilson, Matthew Amerson, David Amerson, Jason Amerson and Hunter McDonald.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, Ala.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local charity of your choice.

Jewel Smith Chandler

Chandler

Mrs. Jewel Smith Chandler, age 78, of Flomaton, Ala., passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023.  She was born in Bratt, Fla. to Daniel Smith and Daisy Little.  She was a longtime member of Atmore Baptist Temple and enjoyed camp meetings in the summer months. She was a lot of fun, always laughing and enjoyed playing pranks. She loved to travel out west and to the mountains.  In earlier years, she cherished motorcycle trips with her husband and cherished her family.

She was preceded in death by her parent; her brother, Billy Smith and her step-son, Terry Chandler.

Mrs. Chandler  is survived by her husband, Joe Chandler; her son, Joey (Angel) Lister; her daughters, Michelle Hammonds and Alisa (Kenny) Pierce; her brothers, Leroy (Judy) Smith, Dean (Beth) Smith and Allen (Debbie) Smith; her sisters, Gladys Davis, Erma Davis and Melba (Marion) Bartlett; her step-daughter, Tonya (Tim) Lee; her step-son, Tim (Melanie) Chandler; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Odom and Bro. Glenn Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, Ala.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 11, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, Ala.

Marvin M. “Doodle” Creamer

Mr. Marvin M. “Doodle” Creamer, age 94, of Century, Fla., passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023. He was born in Wawbeek, Fla. to the late Thomas and Lena Godwin Creamer.  He worked in construction most of his life.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ernest Earl Creamer, Sr.; his sister, Georgia Ann Walker and his brother, Hose M. Creamer.

Mr. Creamer is survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson, Junior Creamer, Jeffery Creamer and Joseph Creamer and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Bowman Cemetery in Wawbeek, Ala. with Bro. Faron Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Bowman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for funeral expenses.

Dan Robinson

Mr. Dan Robinson, age 85, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at his residence.

Mrs. Joyce M. Lamar, age 79, of Atmore, Ala. (Freemanville Community) passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at her residence.

Willie (Bebo) Johnson

Mr. Willie (Bebo) Johnson of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023 at North Baldwin Infirmary Hospital.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 15, 2023 at the funeral home chapel.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 are 11 a.m. at Empowerment Christian Center.
