The Atmore Lions Club was busy Saturday, October 28, carrying out their motto of We Serve. The local club contacted Alabama Lions Sight and two members with that group came and did eye screenings and made referrals to the Mobile Eye Unit which will be in Atmore on November 17.
Local members were on site throughout the day to sell mops and brooms, profits of which go to sight programs offered through Lions Club International.
Used eyeglasses were also collected for recycling to help those in need of glasses.
Lion Nancy Karrick did double duty, selling mops and brooms, and also her book, Memories of Main Street.
