This past Friday night the Northview Chiefs traveled to Baker to battle against the Gators. With a final score of 28-0, it is safe to say that the Chiefs showed up and showed out this week.
In the first quarter, Wyatt Scruggs, started as quarterback which was a change for their offense. This was a no scoring quarter for both teams, and the Chiefs had the ball only once.
Starting off the second quarter, Daniel Kelly ran the ball down the field 49 yards, earning Northview a first down. Scruggs ran a quarterback keeper for the first touchdown of the night. With a good kick, Northview was up 7-0 at the end of the first half of the ballgame.
In the second half of the game, Scruggs threw a 70-yard pass to Tyler Ragan, and he was down at the 1-yard line. Joe Wright then ran the ball into the end zone for another touchdown. Brandon Ferguson kicked another good extra point, making the score 14-0.
In the last quarter of the game, Wright scored again. Ferguson kicked another good kick, bringing the score up to 21-0. Kelly intercepted the ball from the Gators for another touchdown for the Chiefs. The extra point was good, making the final score of the game 28-0.
It was a great night for Northview, especially considering they were on the road again. This week, the Chiefs will host long time rival the Jay Royals at home for their homecoming game. Make sure to show your support this Friday; you’re not going to want to miss it. Homecoming festivities begin shortly before the game. You can purchase your tickets on Gofan.com!
