Dwight Henry Brewer

Mr. Dwight Henry Brewer, age 68, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, in Century, Fla. He was a lifelong resident of Flomaton, Ala. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan and also liked watching a good western. He always enjoyed growing a vegetable garden, especially tomatoes. He really enjoyed going to the river and fishing, and was a skilled paint and body technician.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle (Evelene Baker) Brewer and one brother, Ronnie Brewer.
Mr. Brewer is survived by his one son, Rodney (Roxy) Brewer of Franklin, Ala.; two daughters, Kayla (John) Webb of McDavid, Fla. and Lindsey Brewer of Century; four grandchildren, Peyton Brewer, Troy Brewer, Jon Clifton Buckhault and Everlee Conway; one great-grandchild, Judson Brewer; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held, Friday, October 6, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Cemetery with Bro. Alvin Cook officiating.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Brewer, Peyton Brewer, Troy Brewer, Clifton Buckhault, Adam Buckley and Jim Blankenship.

Lillie Muriel Brooks Killam

Lillie Muriel Brooks Killam, age 86, of Bratt, Fla. passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023.  She was born on in Evergreen, Ala. to Grady Brooks and Katie Earnestine Reid Brooks.  She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and retired from Vanity Fair Corporation.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Tammy Ann Martin and her sister, Betty Hilburn.

Mrs. Killam is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alton Killam of Bratt; her son, Tony Killam of Bratt; her brothers, Jessie (Earlene) Brooks of Uriah, Ala. and Robert (Elaine) Brooks of Frisco City, Ala.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Matt Brown officiating.  Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery in Bratt.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 13, 2023 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, Ala.

Flavors

Funeral service for Mrs. Sarah D. Flavors, age 78, of Atmore, Ala., will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Emanuel Faith Center – Atmore with Bishop Wayne Johnson – Host Pastor and Prophet Shawn  Williams, Pastor of Jones Street True Pentecostal Holiness Church – Eulogist. Inhumation will be in Stallworth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, October. 13, 2023 from 3 – 6 p.m. at Jones Street True Pentecostal Holiness Church, 90 Jones St., Atmore.

Genevieve E. Avery

Mrs. Genevieve E. Avery, age 94, of Atmore, Ala. passed away on September 27, 2023 in Fairhope, Ala.  She was born in Woodland, Penn. to Harry Reuben Jordan and Mary Barnyak Jordan. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Atmore and Atmore Garden Club, was the oldest club in Alabama. She along with her late husband, William Avery, owned and operated the Wagon Wheel.  She was beloved by her town and The Meadows of Atmore.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Avery and her brothers, Harry Reuben “Toots” Jordan, David Lee Jordan, and Milton Jordan.

Mrs. Avery is survived by her loving family and friends around the country.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Sheneila Hartley of Atmore passed away Monday, October 9, at her home, 504 McRae Street. Her funeral service is pending.
