Job completed

State Rep. Alan Baker, officials of Alabama Department of Transportation Southwest Region and Atmore Mayor Jim Staff gathered Monday, September 11, at the intersection of Alabama 21 and Poarch Road, near Urgent Care, to discuss improvements made to the highway. The busy intersection now has updated signal lights, a new right turn lane and a modified center turn lane “to accommodate increased traffic and future traffic patterns for the area’s anticipated hospital complex.” The project was completed at a cost of $811,252.08, funds that came from the state’s ATRIP-II Program, a part of the Rebuild Alabama Act of 2019.
