Sherry Lee Lucas

Mrs. Sherry Lee Lucas, age 68, of Uriah, Ala., passed away Monday, September 4, 2023.  She was born to George “Colonel” Sanspree and Virginia “Sug” Coleman Sanspree. She was a retired bus driver with the Escambia County Alabama School System.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael “Blue” Watson.

Mrs. Lucas is survived by her husband, George E. Scott; her children, Michelle Lucas (Aubrey Gregg) of Little Rock, Ala., Rhonda (Eddie) Mitchell of Pensacola, Fla. and Randy (Anita) Lucas of Walnut Hill, Fla.; her brother, Dale Sanspree of Pensacola; her sister, Mary (Joe) Summerford of Pensacola; her grandchildren, Genesis, Kierre, Alexus, Sadie, Tryton, MacKenzie and Jon; five great- grandchildren; thirteen dogs and Woodrow.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Canoe Freewill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 8, 2023 from 9 a.m. until service time at 1 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Mr. Jerry Rednour, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, August 23, 2023.

Celebration of Life services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.

Ms. Patricia Foster, native of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 in Lansing, Mich.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Faith Center.

Mr. Keith Campbell of Brewton, Ala., passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at his home.

Donald Howard Weaver

Mr. Donald Howard Weaver, age 69, of McCullough, Ala., passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023.  He was born in Atmore, Ala. to Claude Weaver and Mary Frances Goodson Weaver. He was a 1971 graduate of Escambia County High School. He was a member and deacon of Crosspoint Church. He was the service manager with Thompson Caterpillar until his retirement.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenny Mack Weaver.

Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Jeanette Tyree Weaver; his son, Brian (Jane) Weaver of Minneapolis, Minn.; his daughter, Chandra (Chad) McMurphy of Robinsonville; his brothers, Ricky (Cathy) Weaver of Atmore, Rodney (Anna) Weaver of Milton, Fla.; sister, Cindy (Al) Cobb of Atmore; his grandchildren, Loryn, Abbey, Tangie, Trent and Tess, and his great-grandchild, Shay.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in McCullough Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted but donations can be made to the Lynn Ballenger Ministry.

Rondall Oneal “Ronnie” Williams

Mr. Rondall Oneal “Ronnie” Williams, age 68, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, in Mobile, Ala. He was born in Mobile and has resided most of his life in Uriah, Ala. He was a member of Uriah Baptist Church. He was an electrician and a Volunteer Fire Fighter Beat 1 with many years of service. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing; was an avid Alabama football fan; enjoyed boat racing, NASCAR and enjoyed going to the river and creek. He loved his family and his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Oneal Williams and mother, Dovie “Bonnie” Baggett.

Mr. Williams is survived by his three dogs, Si, Mia, Roscoe; one sister, Debra (Glen) Peacock of Uriah; two nieces, Jessica (James) Beasley of Navarre, Fla. and Jennifer Gates of Crestview, Fla.; one great-niece, Cheyenne; three great-nephews, Austin Beasley, Tucker Gates, Noah Gates, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Rev. Wayne McMillian officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Pallbearers will be Steve McMillian, Ray Hadley, Troy Williams, Jerry Williamson, Chad Williams, and Todd Tilley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Saucer, Mike Ikner, Tucker Gates, and Robert Burt.

Charles Edward Hubert

Mr. Charles Edward Hubert, age 67, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Ala. He was born to the late Walter Hubert/Herbert and Juanita Williams Hubert-King (Marvin Lester King). A native of Whistler aka Prichard, Ala., he relocated to Sacramento, Calif. and resided in San Francisco, Calif. before relocating to Robertsdale, Baldwin, Ala.

He was the grandson of Percy (Henry Lelar Belle Ross); James Theautry “Autry” (Aline Knight) Williams; great-grandson of Edward “Ed” (Ella Maye) Herbert, Henry (Salena) Ballard) Ross and Edmond “Eddie” (Queen Ester “Victoria” Knight) Williams; Willie (Pearlie Mae Locke) Knight.

Mr. Hubert is survived by his siblings, Ozelle L. Hubert, Sr., Nora M. Hubert-Crawford, Margaret L. Hubert-Moore and Helen D. Fegan-Robinson.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. at Williams Family Cemetery, Jack Springs Rd., Freemanville Community.

Dennis George – Eulogist. Inhumation will be in Mt. Shiloh Cemetery- Atmore (Nokomis Community).
