Atmore received the ball on kickoff at the start of the first quarter and scored early on. They did not make the extra point, making the score 6-0. Shortly after, the Blue Devils scored again and got a 2-point conversion making the score 13-0.
In the second quarter, Northview’s Devin Kelly ran the ball into the end zone for a Northview Chiefs touchdown. The kick from Brandon Ferguson was good, making the score 13-7. Atmore got the ball back, but the Chiefs recovered a fumble, putting them back on offense.
Starting off the second half of the game, Wyatt Scruggs scored a touchdown for the Chiefs. Ferguson kicked another good point, bringing the score to 14-13. The Blue Devils scored on their next possession, making the score 20-14.
In the final quarter of the game, Atmore scored again making the final score of the game 26-14.
Northview’s head coach Wesley Summerford said, “Yes I thought our players fought hard. Above all, we sometimes turned the ball over too much, and we had our defense on the field too much. We have a quick turnaround this week.”
This upcoming Thursday night, the Tate Aggies will host the Chiefs in Cantonment. Tickets will be available on GoFan.com. Make sure to come out and support, you won’t want to miss it!
