Special to Atmore News

The Alabama State Organization of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International held its fall Executive Board meeting at Dalraida Church of Christ in Montgomery on August 19. Attendance was requested of past state presidents, current state officers, chapter presidents, treasurers, and secretaries, committee chairmen, and open to all members. Over 150 were in attendance.
Representing Gamma Omega chapter in Atmore were Jessica White, secretary; Barbara Whatley, treasurer; and Nancy Karrick, past state president. Also pictured with the group is Ann Jones, the current Alabama State President.
Two Gamma Omega members were given special recognition. Whatley was a participant at the state Leadership Seminar held at Marion Military Institute in June and is serving on the state Exhibits and Records Committee. White received a certificate as the Rosebud for Gamma Omega, signifying the outstanding chapter member with eight years or less of membership.
In addition to the board meeting, following lunch, members attended three working sessions on membership, history of Delta Kappa Gamma, connecting with members, recognitions, and job related meetings with their state officer in that position. One session was also on autism, which will be the state philanthropic group this year.
