Melanie Ann Hardy
Melanie Ann Hardy, a resident of Dallas, TX was born on April 18, 1969 in Atmore, Alabama, the youngest child of Leslie and Florence Hardy. She passed peacefully on June 24, 2023 after a brief hospital stay following an accidental fall that resulted in a traumatic brain injury.

One of Melanie’s earliest sports loves was football – her favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Auburn Tigers. As a student at Escambia Academy, she excelled at basketball and academics. She attended the University of West Florida on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a degree in Accounting. Shortly after graduation from UWF, she moved to Texas to further her career in accounting. In 2008, Melanie started White Sands Sales Tax Consulting and continued her work with sales and use tax accounting clients. Melanie has always been a passionate Auburn University (War Eagle!) sports fan and thanks to Shayne, Melanie also became an avid Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) fan.
As witnessed by the name of her company, Melanie loved the beach, especially Pensacola Beach which she visited whenever she came “home”. No stop at the beach was complete without a detour to Peg Leg Pete’s. Whether it was snow-skiing at Lake Tahoe or playing with friends and family at the lake house (Richland Chambers Reservoir, Streetman, TX), Melanie was a fun and gracious hostess sharing the fruits of her hard work.
It was Melanie’s desire to be an organ donor, and her family was pleased to see her wishes accomplished. Hopefully someday in the future, a recipient will share their story of healing thanks to Melanie’s final gift of life. A celebration of life gathering will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Melanie’s name to one or more of the following organizations: We Are Family Senior Care Services, P. O.
