Crash claims life of Brewton teen

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials announced April 6 that a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, has claimed the life of an 18-year-old Brewton man.
According to State Trooper reports, the teen, whose identity has not been released, was fatally injured when the 2004 Ford F-150 in which he was a passenger left the roadway and struck several trees.
The pickup was driven by a 17-year-old juvenile, also of Brewton, troopers said. Both teens, neither of whom was wearing a seat belt, were ejected.
The driver was taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries, and the 18-year-old passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Escambia County 69, approximately 15 miles east of East Brewton, in Escambia County.
No further information was provided as troopers continued to investigate the fatal crash.
