Mr. Fairrel Dreadin, age 90, of Flomaton, Ala. passed away Monday, December 19, 2022.
His heart was his family, the only thing he loved more was his Lord and Savior. He also loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He was survived by his two children, Mary K. Ross of Elgin Scotland and Fairrel Keith (Linda) Dreadin of Scottsboro, Ala.; four step-children, Linda Hadley, Wanda Burnett, both of Atmore, Ala., Theresa (Johnny) Allen of Flomaton and Wayne Burnett, of Mobile, Ala.; three grandchildren, Cameron (Brittany) Dreadin and Amy (Jeremy) Morris, all of Pace, Fla. and Melissa Dreadin of Collinsville, Okla.; eight great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Bessie Lee Brown
Mother Bessie Lee Brown, age 79, of Atmore, Ala., laid down her cross to pick up her crown Tuesday, March 7, 2023. She was born in Camden, Ala. (Wilcox County) to Eddie Dortch and Rosie Lee Brown. She was a proud graduate of Camden Academy in Wilcox County. She began her Christian experience with First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She served immensely as a devoted church mother and president of the usher board until her demise.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Brown; one daughter, Patricia Brown; one sister, Nell Reel and one grandson, Robert Kirk, Jr.
Mother Brown is survived by her nine beautiful daughters, Debra Leslie, Gloria (Pastor Jimmie) Kyles, Linda Brown-Abner, Annie Bowens, Sherry Bowens, Sandra (Derrick) Montgomery, Paulette (Minister Arnold) Boben, Angela (Jose) Asberry and Felicia (Robert) Kirk, Sr.; two wonderful sons, Clarence Brown, Jr. and Derrick Brown; one daughter-in-love, Vera Mae Altman; special niece, Yolanda Rabb Johnson-Etheridge; special friends, First Lady Jacqueline Etheridge, Catherine Jones, Juanita Perdue, Ann Bynum and Gary Helton; twenty-eight grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center with Bishop Catadro North and Lady Kimberly North, Host Pastors, Apostle Charlie Etheridge, Messenger of Strength and Bishop Catadro North, Presider. Lettie Caraway Hanks
Mrs. Lettie Caraway Hanks, age 87, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in Century, Fla. She resided most of her life in Molino, Fla. until moving to Atmore, Ala. for the past twenty plus years. She was a member of Hall’s Fork Assembly of God Church. She was retired from Monsanto with thirty-five years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to family reunions. She loved visiting friends, going to different places to singings and singing at church. She enjoyed spending time crocheting and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, J.D. Hanks; her parents, James Oscar (Clinie Lewis) Caraway.
Mrs, Caraway is survived by her one daughter, Donna Hall of Atmore; two sisters, Juanita O’Conner of Barrineau Park, Fla. and Bonnie Ruth Bell of Hattiesburg, Miss.; two grandchildren, Donna “Beth” Holloway (Joe) of Daphne, Ala. and J.R. (Virginia) Hall of Gordo, Ala.; eight great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jaxon, Lillie, Ally, Landon, Jayson, Aiden, Emma, and other relatives.

Ms. Quisha Marie Briggs, age 35, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Friday, March 3, 2023. She was born to the late John Paul Garrett, Sr. and Evangelist Dr. Mary Briggs in Independence, La. She attended Covington High School in Covington, La. and received her contracting and later her ABA license working with Autistic Behavioral children. She was an active member of Gateway to Heaven Pentecostal House of God where she was on the Evangelist Board and attended The Global Gateway Bible School. She preached her first sermon in 2022.
She was preceded in death by her father; and her unborn child, Angel Woods.
Ms. Briggs is survived by her mother; brothers, Melvin Briggs of Brewton; children, Annquanette Briggs, Kentashia Mullins, Dereona Mullins, Keon L. Mullins, Jr., Ke’Shawn Mullins, Joseph Woods, Jr., Kyrie Woods and Josiah Woods, all of Brewton.; fathers of her children, Etoyi Smith of Biloxi, Miss., Keon Mullins, Sr., of Gulf Port Miss. and Joseph Woods, Sr., of Brewton and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. William Edward Lemmon, age 71, of Foley, Ala. passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley. He was born in Atmore, Ala. and was a former citizen of Frisco City, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Lemmon and Vada Rumsey Lemmon; one brother, Harold Lemmon; one sister, Ruth Morgan.

Pastor James E. Burnham, age 74, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla. passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Macon, Ga. to James Houston Burnham and Kathleen Skipworth Burnham. He had a long career in law enforcement, but is most remembered for being a Baptist preacher who loved sharing the word of God with others. He enjoyed fishing and gardening in his spare time, but most of all spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; half-sisters, Mary Lois Floyd and Joyce Green and half-brother, Frankie Burnham.
Pastor Burnham is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Nola Burnham; son, James D. Burnham and wife Tracy of Navarre, Fla,; daughter, Melinda A. Prosser and husband Chuck of Weeki Wachee, Fla.; sisters, Linda Watson and husband Benny of Atmore, Ala. and Kay Woodcock of Brewton, Ala.; five grandchildren, Nena, Cody, Austin, Jared, and Kayla; seven great-grandchildren and loving friends, Effie Hall and Donna Goldsmith.

Mr. Dalton Layne Hanks, age 19, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a lifelong resident of Flomaton. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; ; playing and writing music; playing video games; putting together puzzles and Legos; reading and dancing. He also enjoyed going on vacations to Lake Martin, Disney World, and the mountains in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn. He was so excited about becoming a father.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Chad Hanks; grandfather, Kenneth Hanks; other relatives, Arnell (Jess) Tullis, Elizabeth Sheffield, Grady Curenton, Ruby Griffis, and Jewel Hanks.

Stanley Edward Singleton
Mr. Stanley Edward Singleton, age 70, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at his home in Atmore, Ala. He has resided most of his life in Atmore. He enjoyed time with his family, going fishing, hunting, riding horses, and mules. He was also a bull rider in some local rodeos. He and his wife owned a daycare, “Momma Marilyn’s Home Daycare”, and he enjoyed helping her with the children with all the children calling him “Paw”. He also enjoyed dancing, and in his younger years in school, he enjoyed art and was really good at it.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Edward Singleton; mother, Lorraine Middleton Etheridge; step-father, Horace Etheridge and one brother, Ronnie Singleton.

Cynthia Spencer
Ms. Cynthia Spencer (known by her family and loved ones as “Cynthia girl/Maybell”) was the first child born to Charlie James “Tinche” Spencer and Nancy Brown in Century, Fla. and transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. She completed her education in Los Angeles, Calif. Her calling was to work with Meals on Wheels and as a Daycare Teacher. She gave her life to the Lord during a Colorama Service at Greater Glory New Testament Church of Deliverance in 1992 and held the position of Assistant Pastor and Evangelist. She was eager to visit the sick and shut-in and she enthusiastically offered encouragement to everyone she encountered. Her favorite things to do included praising God and witnessing God’s goodness to others, baseball, shopping and most important to her was helping others.

Mary Charles Trawick
Mrs. Mary Charles Trawick, age 85, of Perdido, Ala. passed away Thursday morning, March 16, 2023 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Ala. She was born in Birmingham, Ala. She was a 1955 graduate from Woodlawn High School. She worked various medical assistant roles for several doctors’ offices, a surgeon, and eventually retired from the State of Alabama Health Department, in Atmore, AL after 20+ years of service. She was one of the sweetest, kindest souls you could ever meet was intelligent, witty, cultured, well-traveled, and a great conversationalist and storyteller. She played the piano at Perdido Baptist Church for the last twenty-five years, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, helped with Bible School, sold plots and kept records for the Church Cemetery, and was a member of WMU.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nadine Boyd Love; father, Charles Homer Love; her brother, William “Bill” Love and by her husband, Archie Trawick.
Mrs. Trawick is survived by sisters, Margaret Love Christian (Buddy) of Birmingham, Ala. and Brenda (Roman Podwinski) Love of Mobile, Ala; her three children, Anthony ‘Tony’ Trawick (Kathy) of Lakeland, Fla., Dwayne ‘JD’ Trawick of Perdido, and Tammy Trawick Ebert (Michael) of Magnolia Springs, Ala.; her eight grandchildren, Ryan Anthony Trawick of Clarkston, Mich., Alyssa Trawick (Garrett Garcia) of Lake Orion, Mich., Stephen Trawick (Olivia) of Charlotte, N.C., Justin ‘Ryan’ Trawick and (Kelley Brittany Shea Trawick) all of Lakeland Fla., Tyler Ebert and Jordan Ebert (Coryn), all of Fairhope, Ala. and Kaitlyn Alderman (Ryan) of Rockford, Ill.; All the Grandkids affectionately refer to her as their ‘MeMe’.

Cornell Torrence
Coach Cornell, age 91, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at his home. He was a native of Lee County (Auburn) Ala. and a 1956 graduate of Alabama State University with a B.S. degree in Physical Education. He also pledged Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity while attending Alabama State University. He served in the U.S. Army from May 1949 until September 1952 (honorably discharged).He was a faithful member of Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church since 1956 where he served as a Steward until his health failed. His only job was teaching in the Escambia County Alabama schools where he taught from 1956-1995. He was a Physical Education teacher and coached football and basketball at Escambia County Training School from 1956-1970; also taught Drivers Education and coached football and basketball at Escambia County High School from 1970-1995. He became head basketball coach at Escambia County High School and because of his legacy of service and excellence the school gymnasium was renamed Cornell Torrence Gymnasium on February 12, 2015. Coach Torrence dedicated his life to helping others with dedicated service in the community. For 45 years, he was a dedicated lifeguard at the Houston Avery Park Summer Youth Program. Later he became Director of the Houston Avery Park. He was a founding member of the Progressive Civic and Recreational Club, Inc. (PCRC) of Atmore. He served as councilman for District 2 for eight years on the Escambia County Atmore, Alabama City Council.
Coach Torrence is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-eight years and legacy, Mavis Banks Torrence, Dr. Marian Y. Kara Elizabeth Santorelli
Ms. Kara “Bean” Elizabeth Santorelli, age 18, of Molino, Fla., passed away Friday, March 17, 2023. She was born in Morehead City, N. C. to Mark and Lacey McLaughlin. She was a senior at Northview High School and worked at a local restaurant in Molino. She lived life to the fullest and her light shined bright. In her early years she was an avid runner and ran her first half marathon at age eight, while living in Okinawa, Japan where she came in 4th place overall female. After her family moved to Florida, her favorite thing became spending time at the beach, laying out, boating, and making TikTok videos with her best friend, Hadassah Mascaro. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her dog, Merlot.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ronnie “Putter” Creech.
