Mary Jane Comalander Wiggins Hall

Mrs. Mary Jane Comalander Wiggins Hall, age 69, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, in Gulf Breeze, Fla. She has resided most of her life in McDavid, Fla. She retired with many years of service as a cafeteria manager with the school. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and feeding everyone. She enjoyed watching “The Cooking Shows”, gardening, growing herbs and vegetables. She really enjoyed going fishing and traveling when she was able.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Dove (Beulah Lee) Comalander; husbands, Henry Sylvester Wiggins and William Jerry “Happy” Wiggins; her siblings, Darriel Comalander, Georgia Prescott, David Comalander, Chris Comalander, and Reagan Comalander.

Mrs. Hall is survived by her loving husband of fourteen years, William Dempsy Hall of Bratt, Fla.; two sons, Brian Steven Wiggins of Bratt and Eric Thomas (Danette) Wiggins of McDavid; one daughter, Angela Gail (Kevin) Knowles of Flomaton, Ala.; one step-son, Stephan Hall of Pensacola, Fla.; five brothers, James (Elizabeth) Comalander and Larry (Hazel) Comalander both of McDavid, Jerry (Bobbie) Comalander of Dothan, Ala., Lamar (Patsy) Comalander of  Florala, Ala. and Allen Comalander, of Uriah, Ala.; two sisters, Eleanor Stuckey of Century, Fla. and Melba (Buster) Townson of Byrneville, Fla.; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; many other precious family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Rev. Andy Boutwell officiating. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 17, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Knowles, Alston Wiggins, Allen Comalander, Scotty Wiggins, Javan Thompson, and Aydin Odom.

Horace Eugene Pickern

Mr. Horace Eugene Pickern, age 96, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at his home in Bratt, Fla. He was a lifelong resident of Bratt. He served in The United States Army and The United States Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bratt. He retired from Vanity Fair Mills with many years of service and just became “The Handy Man”. He loved spending time with his family, doing yard work and going fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edgar (Della Mae Mason) Pickern and numerous brothers, and sisters.

Mr. Pickern is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Pauline Pickern of Bratt; three sons, Rev. Gene (Julie) Pickern of Fort Worth, Texas, Rick (Lonna) Pickern of Summerdale and David (Debbie) Pickern of Robertsdale, Ala.; one daughter, Jackie (Tommy) Steadham of Robertsdale; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Rev. Greg Sellers, Rev. Larry Bein, Rev. Chip Barbas and Rev. Mike Lynn officiating. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Pallbearers will be Josh Pickern, Bo Gideons, Adam Manning, Jonathan Lynn, Matt Pickern, Mark Pickern, and Brian Pickern.

Sharon Buckhault Rabon

Mrs. Sharon Rabon, age 66, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 in Brewton, Ala. She has resided all of her life in Atmore, Ala. She was a member of Little Rock holiness Church. She retired from the State of Alabama Prison System with many years of service.  She loved spending time with her family and going to the River Camp and fishing. She enjoyed gardening and making homemade jelly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Archie (Frances English) Buckhault and one brother, William Mike Buckhault.

Mrs. Rabon is survived by her loving husband of  forty-seven years, Walter Rabon of Atmore; one son, Kevin (Jeana) Rabon of Atmore; one daughter, Shelly Odom of Pensacola, Fla.; three brothers, Malcolm (Vonda) Buckhault of Flomaton, Ala., Gary (Kathy) Buckhault of Atmore and Randolph (Carolyn) Buckhault of Brewton, Ala.; one sister, Sandra Buckhault of Montgomery, Ala.; three sisters-in law, Monica Buckhault of Atmore, Laura (Wayne) Redditt of Uriah, Ala. and  Ellen (Donald) Jay of Rockhill, Ala.; four grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Rev. Waylon Stuckey officiating.

Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.

Jayne Runnels McBarron

Mrs. Jayne Runnels McBarron, age 65, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Singer/songwriter Vince Gill’s eloquent words aptly described her passage, “Your work on earth is done. Go to heaven a-shouting love for the father and the son.”

She was born to the Reverend William James Runnels and Virginia Nixon Runnels, in Norfolk, Va. She grew up in Florida’s Panhandle region, graduating from Wewahitchka, Fla. High School and then attending Chipola College.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angelica Christine McBarron (Allen) due to Covid.
Mrs. McBarron is survived by her mother, Virginia (Jennie) Runnels; siblings, Paul Runnels (Susan) and Linda Runnels Brimmer (Jim); five grandchildren, Seth, Ara, Grace, Sullivan and Moses; niece, Brooke Runnels Kelly (Michael) and nephew, Wesley Runnels (Angela).

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Bro. Seth Kruger officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 20, 2023 from 1p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Belinda Shoemaker, age 66, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at her home.

Gregory Matthews of Brewton, Ala., passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Miller County Hospital in Tucker, Ga.

Susie Corrone of Brewton, Ala., passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 at Atmore Community Hospital.

Sandra Ziglar Wilson

Mrs. Sandra Ziglar Wilson, age 75, of Robinsonville, Ala., passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to Xury David and Essie Digmon Ziglar. She was a substitute teacher in the Atmore area schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold Philip Wilson. 

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her children, Chad (Chandra) McMurphy of Robinsonville, Sandi McMurphy of Bay Minette, Ala., Aime Wilson and Kelsey Wilson, both of Robinsonville; her brothers, Bobby (Linda) Ziglar of Foley, Ala., Clark (Iris) Ziglar of Bratt, Fla. and Autry (Glenda) Ziglar of Robinsonville; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 at Noon at Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Walnut Hill, Fla. with Pastor Guy Heath officiating. 

Active pallbearers will be Aidan Wilson, Avery Wilson, Chad McMurphy, Jamie Ziglar, David Ziglar and Timmy Wasdin. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Ziglar, Clark Ziglar and Autry Ziglar. 

The family will receive friends Friday, February 24, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
