Gamma Omega chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met February 2, in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church.
Chapter president Nancy Karrick presided. Evelyn Bilbo presented the devotion.
The main item of business was the upcoming eyeglasses drive in the Atmore schools the week of Valentine’s Day. Members picked up the trifold display boards made by the Lion’s Leo Club at Escambia County High School, who are under the supervision of teacher and Gamma Omega member Barbara Whatley. They also collected deposit boxes furnished by the Atmore Lions Club.
The program for the night was titled Inspirational Paper Art and was presented by Hilda Brantley from Brewton. Hilda kept the ladies’ attention by showing piece after piece of her exceptional journals and other items made from envelopes and paper. Her talent and creativity were spectacular. Husband, John, accompanied Hilda and was as enthusiastic about her work as were the ladies.
The next meeting will be held March 2 and the program will be about a most unusual school in northeast Alabama.
