Wilbur L. Walton, Jr.

Mr. Wilbur L. Walton, Jr., age 81, of Dothan, Ala., passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 after an extended illness. He was born to the late Dr. and Mrs. Wilbur L. Walton. He was a 1959 graduate of Dothan High School. He attended the University of Alabama and a member Sigma Nu Fraternity. He later became the lead vocalist in the band “The James Gang.” Their most notable recording was, “Georgia Pines,” released in November 1965, and to this day, it remains a” fan favorite.” Wilbur was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Dothan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ann Walton Waller; his nephew, Hal Knox Waller, III, and his great nephew, Randell Gordon Nichols, Jr.

Mr. Walton is survived by his niece, Melissa Waller Nichols and his great-niece, Ann Walton Knox Nichols; many loving cousins and friends and his devoted caregivers, Betty and Carl Adams.

A memorial service was held Sunday, January 22, 2023, at l p.m. in The Walton Garden located on the grounds of The First Methodist Church of Dothan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to The Walton Garden; First United Methodist Church of Dothan, 1380 West Main Street, Dothan, AL36301 or The Randell Gordon Nichols, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund; Escambia County High School, 1215 South Presley Street; Atmore, AL. 36502.

Kenneth J. Lambeth

Mr. Kenneth J. Lambeth, age 79, of Walnut Hill, Fla., passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Kenneth was of the Assemblies of God faith and a floor covering installer. He was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kenneth Wayne Lambeth. 

Mr. Lambeth is survived by his wife, Shelia Aaron Lambeth; his son, Tommy Lambeth of Pensacola, Fla; his daughters, Catina (Scott) Francis of Walnut Hill and Regina (Steven) Ross of Poarch, Ala.; his sister, Melba (Junior) Lambeth of Atmore, Ala.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Sanks officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Barren Baptist Church Cemetery in Davisville, FL. 

Active pallbearers will be Tommy Lambeth, T.J. Lambeth, Scott Francis, Steven Ross, Trey Robinson and Dustin Foley. 

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Toni Lee Hamilton

Mrs. Toni Lee Worley (Ahern) Hamilton, age 63, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023 in Greenville, S.C. She was born in Greenville to Frances Imagene (Sisk) Worley and William Albert Lee Worley. She grew up in Greenville, but spent much of her adult life in Pensacola, Fla. and Atmore, Ala. She returned to the Greenville area in 2003 and remained until her passing. She was a fighter, a survivor, and an exceptionally kind person to those who showed kindness to her. There are few people who possess her quiet magnetism or her strength, and she was simultaneously a force to be reckoned with and someone who was capable of unconditional love.

A wonderful wife and loving mother, Toni was taken from us far too soon and will be sorely missed for a long time to come.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Imagene Worley; her father, William A. L. Worley; her brother, William A. L. Worley, Jr. and her sister, Shirley (Worley) Johnson.

Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her husband, A. Kenneth Hamilton of Pelzer, S.C.; two daughters, Stacey Ahern Sanders of Pelzer and Kimberly (Rodney) Hutchins of Piedmont, S.C.; one son, William J. Ahern, III of Honea Path, S.C.; two sisters, Tommie G McAdams of Easley, S.C. and Donna Worley Brewer Bayne of Honea Path, S.C.; one brother, Phillip M. Worley of Dacusville, S.C.; one granddaughter, Lily K. Robinson; three grandsons, William J. Ahern, IV, and Michael A. Johnson, all of S.C. and H. Bradley Sanders of Bay Minette, Ala..

Hazel Hadley Roberts

Mrs. Hazel Hadley Roberts, age 88, of Lottie, Ala., passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023. She was born in Perdido, Ala. to Clark and Evie Anderson Hadley. She was a faithful member of Perdido Church of God who loved talking about the Lord and served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She retired from Vanity Fair. She was known for her excellent cooking and had a special talent of yodeling. She enjoyed gospel music, sewing, gardening, birds, reading, working beads for jewelry and special crosses.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Roberts; her son, Hank Roberts; her grandson, Justin Hadley; great-grandson, Elijah Mallory; her siblings, Willie Hadley, Virginia Hubbard, Katie Hall, Mattie Mae Boatwright, Willard Hadley, Willis Hadley and niece, Trudie Hadley. 

Mrs. Roberts is survived by her sons, Curtis “Dude” Roberts, Jr. and Donald (Ute) Roberts, all of Perdido; her daughters, Hazel JoAnn Weekley and Beverly (Norman Lee) Newton, all of Bay Minette, Ala., Sandra Hadley of Perdido and Ashelynn (Shad) Coleman of Lottie, Ala.; her brothers, William “Buddy” (Mildred) Hadley and Wilburn (Shirley) Hadley, all of Bay Minette; her sisters, Joyce Ann Jackson of Poarch, Ala. and Dona Leah Johnson of Little River; her grandchildren, Michelle, Brandi, Amy, Kristy, Randy, Stacey, Marisa, Anthony, Donna, Blake, Cody and Wade along with many great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Perdido Church of God in Perdido with Bro. Scott Brooks and Bro. Harrison Steege officiating. Interment will follow in Serenity Gardens in Atmore. 

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Perdido Church of God.

Mrs. Barbara Fisher Webb of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Atmore Community7 Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Zion Star Church.

Michael Crenshaw

Mr. Michael Crenshaw, age 59, of Atmore, Ala. passed away recently. He was born in Birmingham, Ala. to Johnny “Coon” Crenshaw and Mary Curry. He attended Escambia County High School and worked as a laborer with Standard Furniture for several years. He was an avid Auburn fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Crenshaw is survived by his wife, Santanya Flavors of Atmore; two daughters, Melissa Crenshaw and Dezmond Burt; one step-daughter, Shar’nell Flavors; two step-sons, Wendell Flavors and Rahsaan Flavors; siblings, Gennie (James) Lewis, Andrew (Floretta) Crenshaw, Nathaniel (Likerta) Crenshaw, Daisy Crenshaw, Danny Crenshaw, Kimberly (Gary) Hall, Deborah (Jason) Turner and Timothy (Quanette) Crenshaw; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 10, 2023 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center with Bishop Darryl North, Pastor and Pastor Dennis George, eulogist presiding. Inhumation will be held in Mt. Shiloh Cemetery (Nokomis Community). Turner Funeral Chapel in charge of all arrangements.

Rosia Harrison

Ms. Rosia Harrison, age 98, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Funeral services are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by Turner Funeral Chapel.

Eshan Porter, Jr.

Mr. Eshan Porter, Jr., 74, of Stockton, Ala., passed away Friday, January. 27, 2023. He graduated from Douglasville School – Bay Minette, Ala. He also attended Bishop State Community College. He worked for many years as truck driver.

Mr. Porter is survived by three daughters, Loretta Thames of Atmore, Marshan Ennis of Mobile and Ivory Porter of Kentucky; five sisters, Annie Horace and Joyce White, both of Stockton, Annie M. Logan of Radcliff, Ky., Renee Robinson of Mobile, Barbara Robinson of New York two brothers, Terry Porter of Atlanta, Ga. and James Williams of Stockton; a host grandchildren and great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a future date with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
