An Atmore man, convicted two years ago for enticing a minor for immoral purposes, is back behind bars after he failed to adhere to the provisions of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
Robert Lee Stabler, 23, who was arrested in 2019 for enticing an 8-year-old girl into a sexual situation, was convicted in 2020.
He was arrested again November 18 by Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies for failure to register with the agency as a convicted sex offender. He reportedly moved earlier this month from the Virginia Drive address on file with ECSO and did not notify authorities of the move.
According to court records, Stabler also refused to get a driver’s license or state-issued ID, each of which would have indicated that he was a convicted sex offender.
He remained in the Escambia County Detention Center, under $50,000 bond, early Tuesday, December 6.
