The driver of a tractor-trailer rig was not injured when a northbound CSX freight train slammed into the rear of his trailer around 10:30 a.m. last Friday, October 14, at the Industrial Drive crossing. The trucker, who drives for Big Creek Farms Hauling in Grand Bay, told CSX investigators he had no warning of the oncoming train. The trailer slid onto the U.S. 31 roadside, taking out a crossing signal as it went. Industrial Drive remained closed at the site for most of an hour.
