A local man was arrested on felony drug charges after an Atmore Police Department patrol officer pulled him over for driving with another car’s tag on his vehicle.
Sgt. Darrell McMann said the incident and arrest occurred July 12, around 8:10 p.m., when the officer ran the tag of a vehicle with unspecified “faulty equipment.” A computer check revealed that the tag belonged on another vehicle.
The officer reported that the driver, Kenneth Wayne Rolin, 51, “was acting in a suspicious manner” but gave his consent to a search of the vehicle.
The search turned up an unspecified quantity of “a crystal-like substance” that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Rolin was charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
