Grace Fellowship Church and several partners will present the second annual Back 2 School Boost this Saturday, July 23, at Escambia County Middle School.
The drive-through event will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 11 a.m. Volunteers will hand out backpacks filled with school supplies, as well as one uniform for each student. Students in grades K4-12 are eligible for the supplies and uniforms, but the student must be present in order to receive them.
At last year’s event, adults were also presented with bags containing small cartons of milk and seven days of pre-packaged meals.
Several informational booths will be set up along the driveway that snakes around the school, which is located on Alabama 21, roughly the midpoint between Oak Hill Cemetery and Spudd’s convenience store.
Last year’s Back 2 School Boost drew about 250 cars, so those who plan to participate are encouraged to get in line as early as possible.
