Registration for the third session of swimming and diving lessons began Monday, July 11, at the Tom Byrne Park pool. Lessons will be July 18 – August 5 with classes at 9, 10 and 11. These classes will meet Monday – Friday for one hour each.
Director Betty Warren said, with regret, there will be no evening classes due to a lack of swimming teachers. Lessons cannot be held with needed personnel. Some of the teachers have commitments in school and the community.
Warren said she certainly understands those commitments and feels confident evening lessons will be offered next summer.
The cost for lessons is $45 per student per session. This is the last session for the summer.
Lap swimming is available to the public on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The cost is admission price.
