A local man was arrested just before sunrise Sunday, July 10, on felony drug possession charges after an Atmore Police Department patrol officer spotted a vehicle traveling along Industrial Drive without taillights.
APD reports show that a traffic stop was conducted, and the officer discovered Timothy Lowery, 47, of Atmore did not have a valid driver’s license.
The officer also noticed that Lowery was “acting strangely,” so he requested and was given consent to search the vehicle.
The search yielded an undisclosed quantity of “a white crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.”
Lowery was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Escambia County Detention Center, where he remained without bond late Monday, July 11.
