The CSX-donated boxcar at the city’s new parking lot was named ‘Boxcar Willie’ after the results of a contest were revealed during a ribbon cutting dedication ceremony Saturday, March 19. The winning name was submitted by six people (out of 56 total entries), whose names were placed in a bag. Mayor Jim Staff picked First Baptist Church Pastor Kevin Garrett’s name, and Garrett was awarded $100. More than 100 people attended the event.
