A local man, arrested in December for shooting into a crowded Atmore bar, was arrested again when he returned to the site of the shooting.
Walter King, 45, was taken into custody without incident by city police February 19 after Tavern of Atmore employees called police to report that a man who had been legally trespassed from the bar, located on U.S. 31 South, had returned.
King was banned from the premises after a December 8, 2021, incident during which he was arrested on one count each of discharging a firearm into an occupied building and reckless endangerment.
There was no shooting this time, and King was returned to the county jail without further incident on a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass.
He remained behind bars late Monday, February 28.
