Virginia Ann Lee

Mrs. Virginia Ann Lee, age 58, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 in Bay Minette, Ala. She was born in Hartselle, Ala. and has resided most of her life in Bay Minette. She valued the time she got to spend with her family. She loved watching NASCAR and Alabama Football. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and working in her flower garden. She has always been a people person. She loved her faith and the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Bracken; one brother, Charles Bracken; two sisters, Nina McDuffie and Ann Long.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her mother, Ann Bracken of Bay Minette; her loving husband of forty and half years, Bobby Lee of Bay Minette; three daughters, Anna Marie (Brian “BJ”) Witherington, Julia (Cody)Butler, all of Bay Minette and Jennifer Lee (Justen) of Daphne, Ala.; two brothers, Mike (Traci) Bracken, of Bay Minette and Tim (Madeline) Bracken of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Amy Huggins and Marie (Jason) Graham, all of Bay Minette; four grandchildren, Kaylee Williams, Natalee Wallace, Allison Wallace, and Xander Wallace; numerus nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 26, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Dorothy Marie “Dot” Nall

Mrs. Dorothy Marie “Dot” Nall, age 77, of Nokomis, Ala., passed away Monday, November 22, 2021. She was born in Davisville, Fla. to Lenard P. Albritton, Sr. and Stella Mae Lisco Albritton. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nathan Hall; her sister, Magdeline Woods and her brothers, Edward Albritton and Lenard P. Albritton, Jr. 

Mrs. Nall is survived by her son, Norman C. Lambert, Sr. of Perdido, Ala.; her sister, Eunice Williams of Nokomis and her grandson, Norman C. Lambert, Jr. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Bro. Bubba Rolin officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Primitive Baptist Cemetery. 

Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Coleman, Audie Coleman, Tim Albritton, Olan Albritton and John Donaldson. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Woods, Zack Coleman and Kyle Gunn. 

The family will receive friends Friday, November 26, 2021 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Mrs. Susan Dianne Purvis Johnson

Mrs. Susan Dianne Purvis Johnson age 73 of McRae Street in Atmore, Alabama, passed away Tuesday November 23, 2021 in a Pensacola Florida health care facility.  Mrs. Johnson was a native of Century, and long time resident of Escambia County, Alabama.  She was a retired secretary in the medical field and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors 2 Sons; Luke Johnson of Brewton; Marc (Lynn) Johnson of Pelham, Ala; Step Daughter; Marilyn (Chuck) Day of Flomaton; 9 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild.

Preceded in death by her parents; Daniel and Sara Purvis; Husband; James C. Johnson Jr; Son; Matt Johnson; Sister; Dannette Morris.

Graveside services for Mrs. Susan Dianne Purvis Johnson will be held 2PM Friday November 26, 2021 at Moyeville Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Glenn Johnson officiating and Flomaton Funeral Home Inc directing.

Imagane Simpson Lane

Imagene Simpson Lane, 94 of Atmore, AL. passed away November 24, 2021 in Atmore. She was born in Monroe County, AL. to the late Joseph Daniel and Etta Jo Watts Simpson on May 16, 1927. She worked as a door greeter for many years at the Bingo Palace and later at Wind Creek Casino and then retired. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert J. “Snuffy” Lane, two sons: Roy Ladon Griffey and Roger Mackey Griffey. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Lee Simpson, Clarence Simpson, John L. Simpson, Speck Simpson, Shorty Simpson and Viola Powell.

She is survived by her children Teddy Wayne (Angela) Griffey; Johnny (Amy) Griffey; Betty J. (Ellison) Hood; JoAnn Durbin; Pamela S. (Jerry) Brantley; eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11 AM from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Derek Gobert officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Brodie Amos, Joshua Brown, Mickey Griffey, Jason Griffey, Terry Harris and Mark Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Ross, Benny Simpson, J.L. Simpson, Matthew Harris, John O’Barr, T.J. Blanton and Jody Dortch.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 10 AM until service time at 11 AM at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Lavada Kelly Renfroe

Mrs. Lavada Kelly Renfroe, age 94, passed away, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in Atmore, AL. She was born in Byrneville, FL; and has resided in Atmore, AL; since 1990. She was a member of Atmore First United Methodist Church. She served along side her “Preacher” husband for more than 35 years.

Mrs. Renfroe enjoyed vegetable gardening and working with flowers. Her passion was sewing, as she was a professional seamstress. She was a very kind and generous woman, who shared potato bread and fruits and vegetables from her garden with the neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vanie and Clara Kelly, husband, J D Renfroe, grandson, Rodney Renfroe, three brothers, Charles Kelly, Calvin Kelly, Arthur Kelly and one sister, Vera Presley.

She is survived by her Three sons, Larry Wayne (Connie) Renfroe, of Atmore, AL; Ronnie James (Linda) Renfroe, of Leroy, AL; John Owen (Kathy) Renfroe, of Columbus, MS; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Atmore First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Larry W. Renfroe officiating.

Burial will follow at Byrneville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at Atmore First United Methodist Church

Darren O’Neal Davis

Mr. Darren O’Neal Davis also known as “Sasquatch”, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 in Brewton, Ala. He was born in Atmore, Ala. to MacArthur and Nancy Grissett Davis. He served in the Force Reconnaissance Division with the United States Marine Corp. He was past Master of Huxford Lodge #779, member of Scottish Rite and York Rite. 

He was preceded in death by his father, MacArthur Davis and his grandparents, William ”Bill” and Mary Grissett, and Mitchell and Pauline Davis. 

Mr. Davis is survived by his mother, Nancy Davis; his daughters, Danyell Davis, Courtney Hope Davis and Haley Nicole Davis (Breyn); his grandson, Kyllo O’Neal Scott; his sister, Pam (David) Cousins and his niece, Shelby Rhea Cousins. 

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 2 p.m. at New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Barnett Crossroads, Ala. with Speaker Scott Harwell officiating. An inurnment will follow at New Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Honors. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Ellison, Doug Hayes, Ricky Grissett and Woody Kilcrease.

Norman Lee Gerald  

Mr. Norman Lee Gerald, age 92, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 in Perdido, Ala. He has resided most of his life in Perdido. He was a veteran with United States Army Air Corps. He was retired from L & N railroad as a conductor with thirty-eight years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen Arnold (Ernestine) Gerald and one sister, Betty Flowers.
Mr. Gerald  is survived by his loving wife, Elsie Juanita Gerald, of Atmore, Ala.; two sons, Stephen Arnold (Brenda) Gerald, of Perdido, Ricky Allen (Dana) Gerald, of Splinter Hill, Ala.; three daughters, Donna (Mike) Howell, Vicky Hawke, all of Bay Minette, Ala. and Sandy Brannon, of Loxley, Ala.; one sister, Margaret “Margie” Dyess, of Bay Minette; five grandchildren, Jeremy Howell, Tanner Gerald, Courtney Brannon, Aspen Gerald, and Joey Ramer, one great-grandchild, Colton Howell; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with Bro. Wendell Hadley and Rev. Ronald Hall officiating. Burial followed at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
The family received friends Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 11 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. at Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.

Randolph J. Conway

Mr. Randolph J. Conway, age 64, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 in Fairhope, Ala. He was born in Atmore, Ala. and has resided most of his life in Perdido, Ala. He valued the time he got to spend with his family and especially his granddaughters. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Auburn Football fan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Leverne Wilson Conway and one sister, Susan Adams.
Mr. Conway is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Deborah Conway, of Perdido; two sons, Randy (Dee) Conway, of Perdido, Chris (Staci) Conway, of N. C.; three grandchildren, Haze Conway, Clara Conway, Reid Conway, numerus nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with Rev. Shawn Majors officiating.

David Lyle Allen

Mr. David Lyle Allen passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He was born in Meridian, Miss. and has resided in Atmore, Ala. for the past three years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Eloise Allen and one granddaughter Angela Ray. 

Mr. Allen is survived by his two daughters, Ami Allen McCarty of Hoover, Ala. and Jeni (Joe) Ray of Atmore; three granddaughters, Mallory McCarty, Emma Kate McCarty, and Mary Ellen Ray; one grandson, Will McCarty and special friend Wayne Thompson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11 a.m.at Robinsonville Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Johnson officiating.
