The Northview High School Chiefs took home yet another win last Friday night all the way in Panama City against Bay County. This was a big win for Northview, considering they traveled about three hours away! This was their first win on the road, and their second consecutive win lately. The final score of the game was 39-34, and it was a good game for sure!
The Chiefs finished on top, but they didn’t start out that way. In fact, Bay County started off strong by kicking the ball onside and getting it back. After that, they scored bringing the score 7-0 early on in the game. As if that wasn’t enough, they onside kicked yet again and scored another touchdown, which brought them up even more, 14-0. Northview started off against the wall, but they were determined not to give up. The Chiefs fought hard all night, which earned them the win in the end.
“This win means a lot,” quarterback Kaden Odom said. “To go out as a team and compete, especially having to play from behind the whole game, shows a lot about this team and program. We have played big schools on the road all year and haven’t won on the road yet, so making the long drive to Panama City and earning the win made it well worth it. I think that says a lot about how we have changed as a team. I love this group of guys and coaches and I feel like we can go the distance with the group we have this year!”
The Northview Chiefs’ record is currently is 4-4 and they are competing to earn a spot in the playoffs. The Chiefs will be playing Arnold this Friday night at home. It’s going to be a big game, so make sure to come out and support! Not to mention it is senior night, which you don’t want to miss. See y’all there, it starts at 7.
