The Atmore Historical Society was awarded a grant from The William G. Pomeroy Foundation for a Legends & Lore marker highlighting the infamous outlaw Railroad Bill. In comments about the bandit, Russell Brown with the Alger Sullivan Historical Society said the marker was not to celebrate Railroad Bill’s life because he was an outlaw.
