E. Horner drug suspects identified

Carter
Bowman

Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks confirmed today (Friday, Aug. 6) that 25-year-old Dewitt Champ Carter of Atmore and Anna Leigh Bowman, 20, of Bay Minette were the suspects arrested Thursday on felony drug possession charges that evolved from police response to a domestic incident at an East Horner Street residence.

Carter is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance (meth and Spice), one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of third-degree domestic violence (menacing). Bowman is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Escambia County Detention Center records showed that both suspects remained in the facility Friday morning, pending bond hearings. Mug shots were not immediately available but will be posted when they are obtained.
