Fountain employee positive for COVID

The latest update from Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) shows that one additional inmate and two staff members, including one at Fountain Correctional Facility, have tested positive for COVID-19 as of June 25.
The inmate is housed at Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer.
All existing quarantine protocols held in-place or newly implemented as recommended by the ADOC’s contracted State Medical Director are being maintained at each facility where newly identified positive inmate(s) are currently housed.
One thousand six hundred sixty-two total cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed among the state’s inmate population, only one of which remained active as of June 25.
Inmate vaccine update
ADOC has confirmed that 94 additional inmates had participated in the vaccination process as of June 25:
*Holman Correctional Facility (Atmore) – two inmates
*Draper Quarantine Intake Facility (Elmore) – 38 inmates
*Limestone Correctional Facility (Harvest) – seven inmates
*Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women (Wetumpka) – 33 inmates
*Ventress Correctional Facility (Clayton) – 14 inmates
A total of 10,811 inmates had received a vaccination through the Department as of June 25.
ADOC staff
Two additional staff members have self-reported a positive test result for COVID-19 as of June 25:
*Fountain Correctional Facility (Atmore) – one staff member
*Criminal Justice Center (Montgomery) – one staff member
