The Atmore Lions Club held its meeting on Wednesday, June 16, at noon in the Mayson Auditorium at Atmore Community Hospital.
President Brandy Giger opened the meeting, followed by Lion Nancy Karrick giving the blessing, and Lion Brandy leading the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
The many guests were introduced and included Sandra Brown; Barbara Whatley the Escambia County High School Leo Club sponsor; incoming president Taylor Lee’s daughters, Maggie and Ella Kate; Peggy Rowley; Jack and Ruth Butler; and District Governor Charlie Wigglesworth. Also recognized were District 34C Secretary / Treasurer Mandie Thompson and First Vice District Governor Bub Gideons.
District Governor
Wigglesworth conducted the installation of officers for the new year which starts in July. Those present for the ceremony were Candace Wooten –Lion Tamer; Leslie Henderson – Tail Twister; Bub Gideons – Director; Emily Dykes – Treasurer; Mandie Thompson – Secretary; Chuck Brooks and Kevin Garrett – Vice Presidents; and Taylor Lee – President.
Members were reminded about the upcoming events which will give them the opportunity to serve the community and surrounding area.
