UF drive begins

The United Fund kick-off was held Thursday, April 22, at Royal Oaks Bed & Breakfast. The kickoff is usually held in October, but because of the pandemic, the UF board decided to hold it in April.
Past President Andrew Garner thanked everyone who attended and said the UF board was excited for a new year of fundraising. This year’s goal is $55,000, and the drive ends September 30, 2021.
Representatives of agencies requesting funds were invited to attend and enjoy refreshments. Those attending were Greater Escambia Council for the Arts (GECA), Atmore Public Library, American Legion Post 90, Pride of Atmore, the Escambia County Cooperative Library System.
This year’s United Fund officers are Mandie Thompson, president; Dawn Skipper, secretary; Andrew Garner, past president and public relations. Other board members are Destany Morris, Noah Graham, Karen Brown, Arica Salazar, Samantha Bennett.
