Atmore police are looking for a local man in connection with a Sunday night shooting that left two men injured, including his brother, who was critically wounded.
Police Chief Chuck Brooks said in a Tuesday, April 27, press release that Scottie Dale Robinson, 28, is believed to have fired the shots. Robinson, who was not yet in custody when the release was issued, is being sought on two counts of attempted murder.
Police reports show that patrol officers were sent to a 6th Avenue address around 10:48 p.m., Sunday, after Atmore Community Hospital staff reported that a person had shown up at the facility’s emergency room with a gunshot wound.
The injuries to the victim, 33-year-old Gregory Lavon Robinson of Atmore, were severe, and he was flown by medical evacuation helicopter to an undisclosed medical facility for further treatment.
Back at the shooting site, officers discovered there was a second shooting victim. They were led to a nearby residence, where 19-year-old Oneius Cortz White was found, suffering from gunshot wounds.
An ambulance was called, and White was taken to ACH, from which he was also later airlifted to an undisclosed medical facility.
Police have not determined exactly what led to the shooting, saying only that “a disturbance ensued” at the 6th Avenue residence.
Police are asking anyone who has information as to Robinson’s whereabout to call 251-368-9141.
