Janice Marie Seals Hall

Mrs. Janice Marie Seals Hall, age 65, of Atmore, Ala., passed away April 4, 2021, Resurrection Sunday. She was born in Atmore to the late William J. Seals and Melvie Z. Seals. She was a native of Nokomis, Fla. She was an Ernest Ward High School graduate and Capps College as a Registered Medical Nurse Assistant. She had been employed at Vanity Fair and New South Apparel, Walmart Vision Center and the Meadows Assisted Living. She enjoyed working in the garden and her flowers and remodeling many of the homes they lived in. She grew up playing the guitar and singing gospel music, worked in the church as song leader, musician, Sunday school teacher and children’s church teacher. Her greatest pastime was bream fishing. She was loved for her beautiful smile that she was known for. 

Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Ronald Gordon Hall of Atmore; one brother, Michael Seals, of Davisville, Fla.; three sisters, Shelia Lee of Century, Fla.; Donna Jordan of Poarch, Ala.; Shereee Morgan of Flomaton, Ala.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Bruley officiating. Burial followed at Pine Barren Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Zack Carter, Shane Seals, Brian Jordan, Chase Odom, Chris Burklund and Jeremy Shiver.

Annie Bell Rushing

Mrs. Annie Bell Rushing age 85, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 in Mobile, Ala. She was a native of Atmore, Ala. and had resided in Mobile, Ala. with her daughter.

Mrs. Rushing is survived by her one son, Victor Rushing of Atmore; two daughters, Patricia Owsley of Sylacauga, Ala., and Debra Baggett of Chickasaw, Ala.; two brothers, Bradley Hadley and Wendell Hadley, both of Perdido, Ala; two sisters, Lillie Casey of Atmore and Mable Bib of Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren, Cameron Owsley, Jeremy Baggett, Ashley Baggett, Victoria Rushing and Tiffany Rushing; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 9, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Wendell Hadley officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday, April 9, 2021 from 12 p.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Larry Dean Milliken Jr.

Mr. Larry Dean Milliken Jr., age 52, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021, in Marianna, Fla. He was a native of Atmore where he graduated from Escambia Academy in the Class of 1986. He always liked piddling around in his shop and on his truck. He loved spending time with his grandchildren; he also enjoyed spending time and sharing food with his dog Saban. Above all, he was always late for everything.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dean Milliken Sr.; grandmothers, Miriam “Me-Me” Milliken and Johnnie Allen; a special aunt and uncle, Pat and Merrill Still; a special cousin, Bryan Still.

Mr. Milliken is survived by his wife, Lisa Woods Milliken, of Atmore; one son, Hunter Milliken, of Atmore; (Hannah) his favorite daughter-in-law, of Atmore; one (Baby Girl) Sara Milliken of Atmore; three grandchildren, Tyson, Levi, and Chase of Atmore; his mother, Lelia Ann Benner of Atmore; one sister, Jennifer Milliken Keller; honorary family, best friend and partner in crime, Scooter (Wendy) Stafford of Atmore; Scooter’s sons, Devin, Dayne and Griffin all of Atmore.

Graveside services were held Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 10:33 a.m. at Semirah Springs Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday, April 9, 2021, from 6:03 p.m. until service time at 8:03 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Justin Lambert (Outlaw), Brian Adkison (Bruiser), Scooter Stafford (Scooter), Wesley Chunn (Bouncer), Clay Helton, Daryl Bryars (Buckshot), Rusty Montel and Cortez Davison.

Honorary pallbearers were Tyson, Levi and Chase Milliken; Devin, Dayne and Griffin Stafford; Kevin Boyington (Huck); Kenny Voorhes; Jon Still (Stillman); Stevie Luker; Jacob Luker; and Chris Ray.

Ada Mae Lewis Bethea Cox

Mrs. Ada Mae Lewis Bethea Cox, age 89, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021, in Bluff Springs, Fla. She was a former resident of Cottage Hill, Fla. and had resided in Bluff Springs since 2005. She attended Gospel Light Temple Church. She retired from TG&Y Department Store where she was the assistant manager. In her spare time she was an avid quilter, loved crafting and was an avid fisher.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands Alvin Bethea and Joe Cox, and a son, Joseph Cox.

Mrs. is survived by her two sons, Wes Bethea and Richard Bethea, both of McDavid; one step-son, Steven Cox of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Wanda McCurdy of Bluff Springs; three step-daughters, Susie Shields and Lisa Shaw, both of Tallahassee, Fla. and Carol Gauthier of Chumuckla, Fla.; one brother, Eugene Lewis of Bay Springs, Fla.; one sister, Jeanette Lollie of Cantonment, Fla.; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great- grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 4 p.m., at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Tony Schachle officiating, along with Al Bethea and Ricky Bethea. Burial followed at Bay Springs Cemetery.

The family received friends Sunday, April 11, 2021, from 3 p.m. until service time at 4 p.m., at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Mark, Neal, Jake, Chris, Paul, Justin and Kendell.

Olivia Christine “Teen” Weaver

Olivia Christine “Teen” Weaver, age 76, passed away on April 11, 2021 in Century, Fla. She was born on December 1, 1944 in Century. She was a member of Faith Bible Baptist Church. She loved fishing, gardening, bird watching and spending time in the mountains.

She is preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Helen Moore McCraney and Ezra McCraney; her husband, Curtis Arnold Weaver, Sr.; two daughters, Lissa Sigler and Sonja Morgan; and her grandson, Chad Burris.

She is survived by her son, Sam (Holly) Weaver of Bratt, Fla.; her step-son, John (Lisa) Weaver of Molino, Fla.; her brother, Wayne Allen of Bluff Springs, Fla.; her sister, Patricia Bergen of Century, Fla.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Faith Bible Baptist Church in Century, Fla. with  Bro. Robert Barrow officiating. Interment will follow at Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, Fla.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Garrett, Cliff Thompson, Ryne Barrow, Joe Brown, Kenny Maher and Marcus Godwin.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m. at Faith Bible Baptist Church in Century, Fla.

Trevor Jermaine “TJ” Baldwin

Mr. Trevor Jermaine “TJ” Baldwin, 45, of Atmore quietly went to Eternal sleep on April 7, 2021 at his mother’s residence.

A native of Atmore, he attended Escambia County Middle School. Mr. Baldwin was known throughout the community and was a member of Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church in Freemanville. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Lee Baldwin.

Mr. Baldwin is survived by his mother, Linda Baldwin of Atmore; two brothers, Jeffery Baldwin of Atmore and Min. Michael (Shamekia) Baldwin of Atmore; his maternal grandmother, Ceola Hubert of Atmore; and his paternal grandmother, Ida Nell Baldwin of Atmore; nieces, nephew, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Public walk-thru viewing will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 1 p.m., at Fairview Cemetery with Elder Edgar McCarthy officiating.

Facial masks are required and social distancing will be implemented.

Newborn Cali Leighelle Beard was called by the Lord on April 1, 2021. 

She is survived by her parents, Onterya C. Robinson and Cornet Beard III; maternal grandparents, Mexcie Robinson of Stockton, Ala., and Ryan Robinson of Mobile; paternal grandparents, Belisa Robinson of Chickasaw, Ala., and Cornet Beard, Jr. of Mobile, Ala; two aunts, O’Meika Robinson of Birmingham, and Lyrica Robinson of Mobile; great-grandparents, a host of great aunts and uncles.

Graveside celebration of life service was held Sunday, April 10, 2021, at 3 p.m., at Robinson Cemetery in Stockton, Ala., with Pastor R. L. Robinson officiating.

Mr. Willie James Norman, 88, of Tensaw Community passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.

Mr. LeRoy Willis, Jr. of Atmore passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Atmore Community Hospital.

Mollie E. Mobley (Welker)

Ms. Mollie E. Mobley (Welker) was born on November 16, 1946 in Perdido, Alabama to Rosie Lee Welker and Anderson Sydney Mobley. She passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021.

She accepted Christ at a young age and was a faithful member of St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church of Perdido, Ala. She was employed for many years at Bay Slacks / Mannor Slacks, International Paper, and a domestic worker for families with whom she was referred to as extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosie Lee Welker and Anderson Sydney Mobley; siblings, Joe Anderson Mobley, McArthur Welker, Larry Welker, Johnnie Mae Welker, Ernestine Welker, and Dorothy Walls.

She is survived by her son, Tracy Neal Mobley; siblings, a devoted sister, Velma Welker, Perdido Ala.; Tommie Theresa Welker, Long Beach, N.Y.; Michael Welker, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Howard Welker, Perdido, Ala.; Lee Roy (Elizabeth) Mobley, Atmore, Ala.; special nieces and nephews: Carmen, Scottlin, Scottlia, Scottla, Qyuston, Chaisley, Danielle, Tyla, Jamie, and Justin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and special extended family / friends: the Christenberrys, Greens, Harrelsons, and Shufords.

Viewing was held Saturday, April 10, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Rev. Mary Dees, Pastor, St. Thomas AME Zion Church, Perdido, Ala., officiating. Interment was at Mt. Shiloh Cemetery, Nokomis, Ala.

Pallbearers were Jerry Oliver, Lorenzo Graham, Timmy Jackson, Ronnie Coleman, Audie Coleman, and David Parker.
