Bartley retiring

Bartley

News Staff Report

When Carol “CJ” Bartley goes to work at the Atmore Post Office Wednesday, February 24, it won’t be just another day at work. It will be her last day at work.
Carol started her career with the Postal Service January 16, 1996 and ends it Wednesday. She has become a familiar face to those who go to the post office – and that’s most everybody.
“I would like to thank all of my family, friends, and all the customers in the community and surrounding areas for their support and patronage through my career,” Carol said. “You have been there in the hard times and shared a laugh in the good times. I will miss you all very much.
“I have spent my entire career here in Atmore. There were times when I felt like I needed to move on to other places, but my heart wouldn’t let me go. I will be staying in the area for a while and hope to see you all on the other side of the counter. May God bless you all and keep you safe in the coming years.”
Carol and her husband Edwin will reside in the Bay Minette area until he decides to retire and they move to Lake Martin.
“I am looking forward to spending my spare time fishing, traveling and learning what the word ‘relax’ means,” Carol said.
