Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks reported in a Tuesday, February 23, press release that an Atmore man has been arrested and another is being sought in connection with the February 19 beating and shooting of another local man at Patterson Street Apartments.
Brooks said 52-year-old Terry James Burrell was arrested Monday and charged with one count of attempted murder in the assault on 58-year-old Donald Dewayne Dortch.
Brooks also said city police have obtained warrants for the arrest of Maurice White, 49, also of Atmore, charging him with attempted murder and first-degree domestic violence in the attack on Dortch. No mug shot of White was available.
As police continue to search for White, Brooks urged anyone having information on his whereabouts to contact APD at 368-9141.
