Atmore firefighters came to the rescue Friday, June 26, when members of a Leadership Atmore class, which painted The Alley in Atmore as a project, didn’t have ladders tall enough to reach the highest points. Johnson steps down, McBride steps up
News Staff Report At the last West Escambia Utilities Board meeting, June 17, Jim Johnson stepped down as chairman, ending a 25-year tenure as head of the board, although he intends to remain a member. Johnson joined the board in August 1992 and became chairman in December 1994. When Johnson stepped down, Dr. Ullysses McBride became chairman. Dr. McBride joined the board in June 1995.
